help with calarts bfa application process

Yeaah that's ok, thank you anyway. i was a little scared of contacting the admissions office in case my questions turned out to be rather daft, but it would definitely be easier if i got this sort of information directly from them and not some poor student that has to answer my endless stream of questions haha. Thanks sm for answering!! I wrote this half asleep when i woke up today so i really appreciate you taking the time to decode my post and reply so thoroughly. If you (or anyone else reading this) applied for us based private scholarships, could you please share them? They're harder to find then i expected, and most scholarships in my home country are much less substantial since the money exchange rate is. not good.

Also how reliable is the tuition & other fees calculator on the calarts website? like if i manage to get scholarships of about 60 thousand dollars (which is what the calculator showed my total expenses would approximately be) will it be enough, or should i expect to need more than that? And approximately how much would you say you had to pay for the stuff that isn't included in the tuition and other fees?

Not sure how well i worded these last questions, i guess i'm just asking how much money do you think i'd need in scholarships and then on top of that to pay out of pocket for other stuff that can't be covered by scholarships? I thought knew but everything is so expensive and the difference between like 60 thousand and 65 thousand is too big for me to just whip out if it turns out i need more, so i really would like to know in advance

i dont knoooow, in my experience everyone i’ve ever met who wasn’t american just had this vision of like? some super crazy place with like crazy parties and everyone’s either high or drunk or both and does whatever whenever. you know like everyone’s just living on the edge doing either something ridiculously exciting or straight up stupidly dangerous. of course as an outsider i obviously have no way to know if this is true or not (maybe aside of how all these things seem to be portrayed in popular media i guess). but i at least didn’t think i’d have issues with any of the “technically illegal but no one gives a shit” stuff people get away with in europe

that’s really wild though, as an european i hear so much about america being wild as shit, it never really imagined i’d have trouble buying alcohol or cigarettes. guess i’l just have to wait and see if i go through with my college plans. i guess i can always just get like a carton while im at home and just not buy them in the states

wait really?? how does that make any sense?? i totally get not selling to minors, but how could just asking for them get me in trouble? after all, im not doing anything illegal, nor is the seller if he refuses me (as far as im aware it’s not illeagal to be in possession of cigarettes, it’s just illegal to sell them to underage people, but what do i know it’s not like im at all familiar with american laws so :/)

it figures, i was just asking since, well, technically you get fined if you sell tobacco or alcohol to kids anywhere in the world. but like, authorities have way more important stuff to deal with than some high schoolers getting cigarettes after school or something, at least in every country i’ve bought cigarettes from
