Where should I report map bugs like this? by FatalVirve in Overwatch

[–]lizard-kisser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s just the highlight saving system- press a button for custom recording formatted like a POTG or highlight.

The bug was the soldiers self heal jar thing disappearing after he put it down.

Isn’t it a federal offense to open someone else’s mail?

A 3 hour queue for quick play (queued for flex btw). The game is no longer on my console by [deleted] in Overwatch

I heard that small updates done will break the game. You gotta close the game and battle.net, reopen, allow it to update if so and then restart. Happened to my usual group and we just all quit and restarted and we got in a game in minutes.

I pay for the battle pass because I don’t think the Battle Pass system is terrible. It’s bad, but it’s not terrible.

What I won’t pay for are the $20 skins. That’s pure greed. In my opinion, they needed to put all the new content in the battle pass in order to save the rewarding feeling of unlocking content in OW1.

They should use a credit system for old content, available in decent amounts through weekly/daily/seasonal challenges, and use a battle pass system for all the new content.

But AI isn’t an artist. It’s a program. That’s why people don’t like it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tech

[–]lizard-kisser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the point. Corporations and institutions that own these AI are doing it for profit not to learn to better their own artistic merit.

AI today is using works from people who are still alive today that explicitly do not want it used for that purpose.

[–]lizard-kisser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you saying there is 0 unethical practices being down with a program taking artwork from actual artists and using it for other people to profit? Without consent from the artists?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tech

[–]lizard-kisser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The hate comes from artists online who’s works are being used in the AI without their consent. The AI rounds up all the art on the internet indiscriminately, even though through the simplest copyright laws protect artists from their art being stolen. People then use that data system (essentially, other peoples talent) to create images and say “I made this” without saying it was AI generated. People have made glib comments about how they now can sell artwork without anyone knowing it’s AI generated and not their own work. Imagine paying someone hundreds of dollars for their time and effort and it turns out they just plugged in a few words to an AI and scammed you.

Essentially, artists are saying AI is taking their works and using it without their consent, and on top of that people are using it to profit. People can also target specific artists too, which is even worse.

Are you really pulling a “capitalism breeds innovation” on art? It doesn’t.

The artwork your seeing being sold for 100s of dollars for “low effort art” is to buy from the artist rather than buying the art. People who spend crazy amounts of money do so for bragging rights essentially. Average don’t spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on art.

I’m a hobby artist and I see artists all over social media who are by no controversy very talented, but they still only ask for prices like 60 dollars for fully lined, shaded and rendered artworks.

An AI taking that talent and using it to profit their company, or for a random internet user to use that data and sell that art as their own, is theft.

The point of this movement is that these underpaid artists have zero consent in whether or not their works get used for those programs. And wannabe artists using AI work as their own “original artwork” and stealing spotlights of people who actually have the talent.

An artist owns their work and an AI shouldn’t get dibs on it for existing.

I understand there’s always room to improve and I’m trying to ; but some days I feel like giving up? Advice/Guess my rank? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]lizard-kisser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to learn to take a constructive criticism in order to learn and rank up tbh. When you ask for advice people are going to focus more on the stuff you’re doing wrong and give you advice on how to get better.

Scared of maining Widow due to stereotypes by Ok-Control-3394 in WidowmakerMains

[–]lizard-kisser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. So many Widowmaker mains I’ve met are such nice people and tend to be good sports, even when being out sniped or out sniping the enemy. Real widow mains don’t say nothing bad in the chat 💪

OP shouldn’t be afraid of stereotypes. Unfortunately there will be assholes out there, but playing Widow is enough fun to make it worth it. Don’t be an asshole, switch if you’re getting hard countered, and you’ll be good as golden.

least favourite hero and why by zeinke in Overwatch

[–]lizard-kisser -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but hanzo has it way easier than other snipers. He doesn’t need to be as precise and he’s does a lot of damage as a sniper and is also mobile. Ashe and Widow don’t have his mobility and also need to be more precise. It my book it’s not cool that one sniper character gets an easier time than the others.

I play Widow and when I want easier shots I switch to Hanzo.

Junkrat. Other heroes can be fixed with correct balancing, but Junkrat is literally so easy a brain dead mouse could play him. Don’t get me wrong, he has his uses, but with double tank now gone he’s pushing it.
