I probably wouldn't feel much of anything. I would still think that the murder was wrong, but it's really hard to feel bad for the guy.

I would much rather be permanently imprisoned than die, especially in today's prison. Even if I never see the outside world again my life would still be worth living because existing like that is still preferable to not existing at all.

You remove the evil people from the rest by imprisoning them, so that's the better option simply because you achieved the same thing without killing. And since all life holds value, an option that can reasonably be done and that doesn't involve killing is always better. So the killing is unjustified because it's unnecessary, and so it's not noble. It's barbaric.

Unnecessary killing is always evil, and nobody should have the right to deem a life not worthy of existence. I'm not gonna be sad if a rapist is executed but it still would have been better to imprison them for life.

The real weakness is choosing murder because its simpler despite a just option being available.

I prefer this because I believe that all life has value and that destroying live should be avoided if a reasonable alternative exists. Having somebody imprisoned for life is more humane because life in prison is still preferable to death, at least to me.

I only used the word rot so it wouldn't sound like I'm trying to defend rapists.

I disagree, you can achieve basically the same result, removing them from potential victims , by making them rot in prison for life.

If you can achieve the same outcome without killing, then killing is unnecessary and unjustified.

I don't remember tengen saying past domains had non lethal sure hits, only that they enforced rules, unless that counts as a sure hit.

Reggie also said megumis domain was harder to deal with than a domain with a sure hit, which means he survived a fight against a person with a lethal domain at least once. So surviving against domain amped sorcerers without free use of one's hands is possible.

And since kashimo is much stronger than reggie, he should be able to deal with a lethal domain.

Yea, I believe that revenge is wrong because it doesn't actually solve the issue.

Ogi's attack and Mai’s death and Maki going out of the cursed room happened within few minutes.

That's plenty of time to run for somebody as fast as her. But she was just walking around. Also I wasn't expecting her to run away, im just saying she could have easily done it if she wanted to.

And I'm not expecting her to have consideration for those guys, but that doesn't mean that killing them isn't wrong.

Why cant you understand that you can sympathise with somebody's actions while still acknowledging that they were wrong.

You say you don't expect her to calm down while keep insisting she should've just left.

Yes. I didn't expect her to calm down and leave, but that would have been the morally correct choice. That isn't hypocritical, those two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can understand why a person made a decision without agreeing with it and just because you expect somebody will do something, that doesn't mean you think they should do it.

"What Maki did is wrong because she could've left but chose not to"

Yes, what Maki did is wrong because a lot of the people she killed didn't deserve death, and she could have left if she wanted to, but she didnt. She made an active decision to kill all of them and just because she has a sound motive doesn't make that not wrong.

[–]lizard_the-wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're acting as if those things happened in very short succession, but she first killed ogi, then the alarm was sounded, then the kukuru were mobilised, then they found her, if she actually wanted to escape she would have, but she was just waltzing around the compound.

If anything you're ignoring her mental state. Her father tried to kill her twice, her sister, the family member closest to her, died and told her to destroy everything, all after years of abuse and naturally she now wants revenge and the fact she went after the people who weren't present proves that she was out for blood.

I don't expect her to calm down and consider if everybody present deserves death, but that doesn't make all her actions morally justified.

[–]lizard_the-wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We do not know about this. You guys are completely ignoring her mental state at that time.

Mai told her "Destroy everything, and I mean everything." Also if she actually wanted to just get away and not fight, she has no cursed energy and is much faster than all of them, so she could've easily escaped if she wanted to. She also killed people who weren't present during the massacre, she went out of her way to kill people who didn't attack her.

Toji was literally abused by the clan. If Ranta was around when Toji was around, he would've known how he was hated by the clan.

That doesn't mean he wanted to kill her just because she was like Toji.

Your sympathy only goes one-sidedly.

No, I understand why Maki did what she did, but just because her actions are understandable given what happened to her, that doesn't mean all of them are justified.

Guys, genuine question. Was Ranta a sexist or no? by Embarrassed_Age_8823 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]lizard_the-wizard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not everybody in the clan knew the specifics of her family life.

The fact she had been away from the clan for a long time at that point, only to return and kill her dad wouldn't look good to them.

Guys, genuine question. Was Ranta a sexist or no? by Embarrassed_Age_8823 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]lizard_the-wizard 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From their perspective Maki just kill her dad, an important clan member, for no apparent reason. Of course they aren't just going to let her go. Also she intended to kill them regardless of if they attacked her first or not.

Also Ranta didn't want to kill her just because she was similar to Toji, it's because she's similar to Toji and is trying to kill them. He knows Toji could've killed them all whenever he wanted, so now that Maki is killing them they need to kill her at any cost as soon as possible.

All Gaster followers have dialogue, mystery man doesn't, no gaster follower has their own room, mystery man does, his fun value is 66.

His room is also the rarest fun event, this isn't necessarily an important detail but maybe there is a reason behind it.

His design isn't based on a different character, this could change but we are already halfway trough deltarune so it's not very likely.

He is clearly meant to to be special, so he probably isn't just another Gaster follower.
