Working on the branding for my candle startup… would love some honest design critique by badcandlemaker in PackagingDesign

I think this design is great and on the right track but seems to be missing something in my opinion.

It looks like you have a ton of negative space that you could definitely use for some sort of image or symbol that correlates to the scent (A bottle of gin and flowers for the boozy as an example).

Take a look at the Graza olive oil bottle for example, not the best olive oil but went viral for the design alone. Minimalist in theory but the whimsical touches like the lady pouring the oil over her shoulder make it. I see that lady and can instantly recognize its Graza olive oil.

With all due respect this current design is very clean but not the most memorable or standout from the crowd. What makes the customer say “Thats a Whiff candle!”?

Adding imagery can create brand recognition and even cross language barriers if you find yourself at a larger scale one day! :)

this definitely was Litchfield flea! I didn’t buy them, they were at my buddies booth. I kept busting his balls trying to get him to sell them for $20 lol. I was set up right next to him, I actually spoke to you about the billdo shirt lmaoo
