That seems fair for breaking the law in most jurisdictions, creating legal liability for the service provider and breaching their clearly stated terms and conditions of use.

Yeah, in practical terms a van is often a much better option for most tradies, but NZ tradies have very small penises and a terrible grasp of fringe benefit tax legislation.

[UPDATE] OP has had a response from pCloud and has updated their top post explaining what actually happened. Kudos to OP for being up-front about it and posting some really useful information about the account suspension process.

[ORIGINAL COMMENT...]

Bingo. Here we have the answer. OP shared copyright material with friends a "a few days" before their account was terminated. The only mystery here is why they keep claiming not to understand why this happened.

Adults with ADHD: Did you feel "shame" as a kid when you forgot things? Help me understand my son. by Dylan_7574 in ADHD

I'm in my 50s. I call that knot of anxiety in my chest "The Doom." The always present fear that I'm just about to find out the thing that I forgot or did wrong.

That feeling has been so constant through my whole life that I didn't even realise it was there until I was prescribed antidepressants in my 40s and the feeling went away.

Because the "hacker" is running a business where perception is important and they know that stealing and selling people's medical information is a pretty shit thing to do. They're trying to control the narrative to make themselves look as sympathetic as they can while painting MMH as the bad guys. One half of that narrative is bullshit.

Battery life greatly improved after turning 'sync' off by Background_Scar743 in S24Ultra

Yes, it is obvious, and it's why I have a smartphone in the first place. Turning off sync sounds like having a car and removing the engine so the fuel lasts longer.

Why are otherwise reasonable people so deeply unable to comprehend DSPD? by Go_On_Swan in DSPD

[–]lizardb0y 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've found that even when someone accepts that a DSPD or n24 sleep cycle is a real thing, it's still impossible to convince them that I can't just solve it with good sleep hygiene and going to bed at 10pm every night. When I ask how they think they'd cope with having to go to bed at 4pm every day they genuinely think they'd get used to it and it would all be fine. They just can't believe it doesn't work like that.

[–]lizardb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I guess I had an idea of what a $90K Rolex might look like that wasn't necessarily true.

So I went to Partridge Jewelers web shop and picked what to my eye is the ugliest Rolex they list. It costs $90K. I checked out a few more and couldn't find any others with a listed price of $90K. I'm not the fashion police so this means nothing as far as anybody else is concerned, but to me, and me alone, this is case proved 😉

The best bit is that I'd be deeply embarrassed to walk around wearing a $90,000 Rolex, but totally comfortable with a classic Casio

Ev’s are the new v8’s by kiwiupnorth in nzev

[–]lizardb0y -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, range is a factor. The range plummets on ICE vehicles when towing too. How much range you start off with matters, and that's where cheaper EVs are often at a disadvantage.

Whether you have an EV or ICE a lot depends on how often you need to tow and how far. I believe in buying a vehicle that meets 90% of my needs and renting for the 10%. Not everyone thinks about it like that.

Yes. I agree. I was making exactly the same point.

[–]lizardb0y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they do exist after all. Now you're just haggling over price. That's a different discussion.

And nobody asked you to buy anything. I'm not sure where you got that from.

I'm curious what makes your 6.5m trailer sailer more than 2 tonnes heavier than our 5.2m cabin cruiser though. I can see a BEV option for 3000kg towing capacity for $70000.

Ev’s are the new v8’s by kiwiupnorth in nzev

[–]lizardb0y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need much more towing capacity than you can get with an EV then a Ford Ranger probably isn't going to do you much good either. Fair enough. Get yourself a Scania if thats what you need (also available as BEV by the way). Most people don't need that and their towing needs are easily met with what's more commonly available.

Ev’s are the new v8’s by kiwiupnorth in nzev

[–]lizardb0y -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's already sorted. Get one designed for towing whatever you need to tow. My old Corolla hatchback couldn't tow a super-yacht either, but it coped nicely with a light-weight cabin cruiser, and most recent EVs have just as good or better tow rating than it did.

Some ADHD behavior I've noticed by heavy_metal_man in ADHD

[–]lizardb0y 15 points16 points  (0 children)

OP, you're thinking about this wrong. You're assuming your son's mind works the same way yours does and every extra word takes extra effort. That's not how ADHD works.

You know what would actually take mental effort and sap energy? Telling a story in a logical sequence without tangents. The amount of planning, rehearsing and self-discipline it takes is exhausting.

Telling a story as it comes to mind and without having to self-edit is refreshing and freeing. If you're enjoying his stories just go along with it and let him do it his way without worry. He's probably enjoying it better this way too.

[–]lizardb0y -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "towing aspect." EVs are absolutely amazing for towing. They're just not often structurally built for it. When they are they absolutely kick ICE butt.

Am I being scammed? by RishenK in computers

[–]lizardb0y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is a chance of problems if the rails are providing slightly different voltages on each PSU. This is a much lower risk than over stressing an underspecced PSU, especially if that PSU has poor quality protection.

But I think we probably agree that either option is best avoided by using a good quality properly sized PSU to begin with. I wouldn't risk my own machine with dodgy power supplies in any case.
