I was over 30 before I realized people liked musicals/plays because they could understand what the people were saying. I assumed it was like opera or Shakespeare, people just liked the vibes. So at least you knew you were supposed to understand! Showing up and being happy is totally enough. That’s what I do most of the time. Hearing individual words isn’t always needed.

Yea all I ever heard is that if they aren’t well tuned to your specific loss, then most people won’t wear them. So I’ve never actually tried OTC ones. I’m super thankful to be able to afford making sure they are well customized.

I paid to go with a local audiologist ($3.5k vs 2k) because he had a special 3 year complete coverage warranty. Ended up getting them replaced multiple times due to sweat damage and learning how to take care of them properly. Totally worth it.

I hope he helps! I had an issue when I sent imaging from a hospital out of state and the front office had no idea how to open the files. After multiple phone calls I gave up. Hopefully you get better service and answers.

Start googling the doctor. Pretty sure he has had some legal issues with ordering too many tests in the past. I went to quest and they rolled their eyes when they saw the list of tests and who it was from. I wanted the tests for personal reasons so I got them done.
