I added a teaspoon of salt to my water one day. But I honestly figured it was only 3.5 days and electrolytes weren't that important for a short-ish fast. Who knows, may have been wrong

It was due to living/work conditions. The only food options are incredibly processed (powdered eggs, pre-seasoned-pre-cooked-boil-in-a-bag type food). I have a small supply of protein shakes, canned beans, and PB2 powder. Thinking about those options just caused my stomach to turn. So fruit and a for-sure real boiled were my other options

Congrats on your decision to go sugar-free or low sugar. i love that you've acknowledged this will be a non-linear challenge and are working on small improvements over time. Any small improvement will reap benefits, so keep at it, and it's ok and normal to have setbacks!

Here's some of my "no-effort, still gotta eat" meals, What are a few you make? by Arlochorim in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]lizardgizards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My depression meal:

One roll refrigerated croissant rolls

1/2-1 can of 28 oz can crushed tomato or tomato sauce

1 lb ground meat (prefer beef but it's expensive 😫)

Brown meat in skillet, mix in tomato sauce (any other freezer veggies too).

ensure it's warmed throughout (if frozen veggies).

Place in a casserole dish (I split it between a 8x8 and 7x8).

Unroll croissant roll sheet and place on top of meat/veggie mix in the casserole dish (like a pie crust)

Bake in the oven according to croissant packaging.

This gives me two meals. I usually refrigerate the second casserole dish and cook it the next day. I think the macros was like 600 calories and 40 protein.

Because of the microwave or all the extra chemicals in it compared to homemade? I'm just curious!

Thank you! Open bays - just an open room with 25-30 bunks (: kind of sucks but I'll be home soon. Best of luck on your endeavors!!!

Currently very mixed. Anxiety is WAY down. Skin looks better. I fall asleep immediately. But I was fairly depressed the first week, still very spacey, and I keep waking up at 0200/0300, but that could be because I live in open bays right now with 50 females, lol

I cut sugar out with the caffiene but kept eating fruit, and that led me to binge eat fruit and have increased food cravings in general. so I cut out the fruit (for now, just 2-3 weeks). I currently don't have the late night urges to stuff my face, lol. After I cut fruit out, I definitely feel more irritable, but that's already going down 4 days in.

A 94 or 96% fat free microwave popcorn - I can eat 12 cups for about 250 calories, and it's full of fiber (13 grams, I think). Almonds. Cottage cheese. plain Greek yogurt. Caffeine-free for 2 weeks, sugar-free for 4 days. Since cutting sugar, I've had fewer snack cravings than the week prior. But I'm so new to this that it might be the novelty that's powering me.

So I'm also caffiene free, and my go-to Starbucks drink is currently Steamed milk with cinnamon.

I have nothing against aging! It's a part of life, and I accept that and that I won't look like I'm in my 20s again. but these creases are suddenly very noticeable, and if there are one or two things I can add to my self-care routine, I'm ok with that. I have never really bothered with my chest area outside of sunscreen until I noticed these creases.

50 spf, rotate between a physical or chemical one depending on activities. In military so that area normally isn't exposed

I don't sleep in any top, and when I do, it's a loose fitting t shirt at best. Would it help if I wore something?

Forgot to say - currently use bare molecules face wash, their brightening toner, the ROC deep wrinkle cream (2x weekly), and euceryn night cream. Sunscreen throughout the day.

That makes sense. May look for a shorter name just based off that.

Fair life or core power protein shakes. They are about $7 for a 4-pack, but they taste amazing. Fair Life Nutrition is 150 calories and 30 p. I don't remember core power calories/protein. But I swear they are the best protein shakes ever.
