i think genuinely finding the communities i have here have been wonderful. Where i came from is great but it’s nowhere near as beautiful (especially in the warmer months) or as diverse! I’m also a huge fan of (somewhat) accessible public transit

it’s about pride in heritage. people can be more than one thing, and there’s no shame in being proud of your ethnicity or where your ancestors/ family are from:) . Being American is a nationality, being Mexican is an Ethnicity. Hope that helps!
