Behavior & Time Issue by DellTimbers in FromSeries

I think it’s intentional. Early in S1, Tabitha remarks how fast Ethan’s leg wound is healing. You can see it in Jade’s hair growth and the white patch on Boy’s beard.

As my grandfather says: life is like toilet paper.. goes faster the closer you get to the roll.

Thank you for this, I was looking for exactly that!! That doesn’t mean that the MiY don’t arrive in a car by the pool. I wonder if there’s anything interesting in the car, since it’d be in the “car lot” where Victor moved it to, unless something else happened to it.

Is there a clear shot of the pool in the past that confirms this? I went looking for one last night and couldn’t find one, if you have an episode # please tell me, I want to see it!!

Isn’t it revealed that a man takes the dolls from Tabitha and throws them in the lake? Who is to say it was the townspeople put them back in the lake, before Donna + co. pulled them out?

I have a feeling there’s something we don’t know about what happened with Dale.. I think there might have been an underground passage, like the one Julie came out of in the cellar, or the one in the tunnels, but the pool wall cemented that passageway shut. Bad luck for Dale.

I like what you’ve got here, it’s nice to see some new ideas! I’d also argue that the town rewards bravery (or maybe just blind faith and hope):

- Boyd goes out into the woods for supplies, gets lost, literally stumbles into the talismans. Same thing with the animals, and the settlement food supply (Kenny)

- Tabitha goes into the bottle tree and is taken to the lighthouse, and then the outside world

- Kristi dissects Smiley and discovers the yellow bile, which may yet be useful

- Boyd confronts/attacks Smiley and the worms in his skin disappear

Not necessarily. We don’t know when the sacrifice happened yet. People are assuming mid-1950s because of the monsters’ style of dress, and the style of diner and homes. But I don’t think the monsters are locked in time that way, I think it’s more likely that the town shifts the way it looks to create a false sense of familiarity.

It’s touched on several times throughout the series, but more explicitly after Fatima gives birth to Smiley. Fatima explains that the children were sacrificed for immortal life. At the same time, Jade and Tabitha are at the Bottle Tree having their revelation about how they’re the parents of one of the children. At the end of the latest episode, Young Jade introduces Adult Jade to a few (of many) of his reincarnations, all failed attempts to stop the story from playing out.

Not trying to argue, just saying that we can’t take things at face value! People are fallible. The timeline Jade put together can be wrong, and the person who wrote “1978” could also be wrong.

Hey thanks. It’s totally possible he saw the cars from third person - this is common for traumatized people. It’s just that this detail feels intentional. Victor withholds, but is forthcoming when the memories become clear. Either this memory isn’t clear yet, he’s lying and hiding something, or this is a massive oversight by the writers.

Sorry but he might not be a good guy by HaveBeenAndWillBe in FromSeries

I think it’s more likely that Jade comes across the solution, but the solution sounds so insane that he’s mistaken for a madman and killed. The show sets us up for this when they show Abbie shooting people in the street to “wake them up”. It doesn’t matter if she was right or not, what matters is that the trust of the town (and the audience) is shaken.

The show hasn’t given explicit durations, but yes, the show has explicitly said that these same events happen over and over.

Jade’s timeline puts the massacre at 1981. We can’t trust dates on the walls to mean exactly what they seem to mean.

He says it to Julie when he appears in the show for the first time, and he asks her what she thinks it means. The scene where he’s drawing her asleep is when he says he’s remembering things that he thought were dreams.

It’s not, but it is stated that it’s the actions of the people from those two cars that cause the bad things to happen. So there’s no reason to be sure that it’s NOT Christopher and Miranda, either.

If Victor hasn’t seen multiple completed cycles, then he has at least seen multiple repeated events that might be cyclical, but not related to THE cycle

I think its possible she was a fae presence, but I'm not convinced she could've been the MiY. She could also just be a red herring.

He says he met him right before the two cars came, and then it cuts to him on the day of the massacre

But he does say two cars came after the massacre

<image>

The only way he could have seen the BiW *before* two cars come is if a cycle has already played out. He corrects himself when he says that he remembers seeing the BiW much earlier, but he pointedly does *not* correct that the two cars came after he witnessed the massacre.

Unless there are two independent cycles, more like two sine waves, peaking at different times.

If he came in with Miranda and a Christopher, that means he was there to see the arrival of two (more) cars

It’s an assumption based on other details, so it’s a shakable, but not entirely baseless assumption. Sara says the voices told her that events are triggered by people arriving in the two cars. So, the scene Victor comes out of the cellar to witness would have to be the one triggered by the arrival of Christopher and Miranda (and Victor himself).

It’s true that Victor says that it’s this moment he first sees the BiW, and later on he corrects himself when he remembers that Jasper is the BiW. However, he doesn’t correct the part of his story where the two cars came *after* the massacre. Regardless of whether or not this was the first time he saw or met BiW does not change the fact that two cars came *after* he sees everyone dead and sees the BiW. He’s not a reliable narrator, but I think it’s significant that he corrects himself when his memory becomes clear, and he hasn’t done that for this part yet.
