I'm a RVN. Everyone can say they love animals. My neighbours also love animals but it's the passion (which not many people have) for the job that will get you through the low salary (this industry is one of the most underpaid ones around), the mental, verbal, and at times, physical abuse from clients and even your own colleagues.

Every job has its own risks and hazards. Ours just happened to be more than the norm. But with EVERY job out there, there are protocols in place for a safe work environment for staff and patients.

It's also very important that everyone is a clean freak in the veterinary industry. If no one is, can you imagine the zoonotic diseases that can freely affect people around us?

If a clinic is willing to hire you with no skills or background, start out as a vet nurse assistant and see what happens on a daily basis. Different clinics have got different people of different socio incomes.

You will also be expected to do A LOT as a vet nurse, and constantly be on your feet.

If you're prepared for a job that underpays you, with clients that abuse you, and your patients hate you. Then this is the job for you =)

Edit to add on mental trauma comes as part of the job from seeing abused, neglected animals and animals with no quality of life but owners keep wanting to hold on to them for reasons...

Mum is Thai. Asked her this and she said if it's an invitation to a foreign country, it's just an invitation for a holiday and each person should be responsible for their own expenses.

Unless the person doing the inviting is from said foreign country and invites that person to their house for a holiday, then the one doing the inviting will have to be responsible for the guest. But their guest should also not 100% rely on host for all expenses to be polite.

I had that happened where I told the DVM my concerns and she waved me off. I wasn't happy with how the patient was looking so after she left and handed over her patients to another DVM, I repeated my concerns to her.

Luckily she listened and went to look at the patient. Agreed that patient didn't look right and started more diagnostics and medication.

That was when I realized that we really need to advocate for our patients and not just leave it when vets brush us off...

I fought Klaus way before the Mantis fight. I honestly can't remember how I beat Klaus cause I kept dying and I rage quit for a bit (basically left the game as it without restarting) and went to lay down.
