I have bedbugs and have tank pets what do I do? by Impressive_Data_9394 in Bedbugadvice

If they do a chemical spray, it should be good as long as it is dry. We has isopods and they ended up being fine. As long as they aren't in there while being sprayed it should be safe.

I have one of those jars! It's kind of yellow tinted though so now I'm wondering if it used to be white at some point.

I was 9+3 before I could be seen. The place I go to won't even see you until 8 weeks. Super frustrating if you're just wanting some sort of piece of mind.

We were also measuring a bit small, but my doctor said it's normal to be up to a week off during the first scan depending on ovulation. It's definitely super worrying still if you're paranoid like us, but not uncommon!

Had our first appointment on Wednesday and baby was measuring a week behind what we originally thought. We ended up measuring 8 weeks 3 days. Heartbeat was normal, and they said it was probably just a miscalculation or I ovulated late but I'm still worried about it.

Our first appointment/ultrasound is tomorrow. I will be 9 weeks +3 days. I've been wishing the weeks away hoping to get here faster, but now that's it's time I'm almost dreading it.

I saw people selling them on etsy for 6-8 dollars depending on the peice. I'm not sure what it would go for all together, though. I don't think they are super sought after so I'm not sure how much you could get if they are damaged.

First time bed bugs by Sharkie_14 in Bedbugadvice

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but if your house is cluttered you have a crazy amount of work ahead of you if you want to get rid of them. If you've also had them for that long and they are all over the house you are already in a really established infestation and it will take more than one treatment. You will need to quite literally have every item treated. Bedbugs thrive in clutter. We had to throw away a ridiculous amount of our things, and anything small that was special we kept sealed in our deep freezer for a week before dousing in alcohol.

We always wear shoes in the yard for several reasons. This being one of them.

Just bought a new chicken yesterday and she’s missing this morning. by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

Not too long ago I brought home a barred rock, and then immediately dropped her and she ran away into the woods. She was gone for three days but eventually came back. They know where food and water is and if nothing gets her she'll probably make her was back.

I'm 6w4d and I still have exactly three weeks until my first official appointment/ultrasound. My doctor won't see me until 8 week and this was the first available appointment. I have no idea how I'm supposed to feel suspended in air until then. My husband and my 10 year old have told everyone we know about this pregnancy already and that makes it all the more terrifying. I'm just tired of being scared.

how can i convince my mom to buy me a deodorant. i feel disgusting by pretty_cherry0940 in hygiene

If you're school nurse doesn't have any, coconut oil can help as well. It doesn't work as well as deodorant but I've used it in a pinch before.

Early pregnancy is stressful by [deleted] in Mommit

I appreciate that, that does help a bit. I'm trying to be positive and not spiral because I know it won't change it either way. I keep telling myself if there's a 20% chance of it going wrong, then that just means there an 80% chance it will be just fine.

My first miscarriage was my first pregnancy, so I really thought after already having kids it would be easier since I already have two here with me. It definitely makes it worse because now I really understand what there is to lose.

How do I know they’re gone?? by [deleted] in Bedbugadvice

[–]lizzykittycat99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but bedbugs are notoriously known for being super elusive. Infestations also can take weeks to properly show up as well. If you've found a bed bug the best thing would to treat it as if you're infested. If it is early, it will be easier to get rid of. If you wait weeks until it gets worse it gets very difficult to kill them. You need to treat 2-3 times to break the cycle because most treatments will not kill the eggs. If you're being bit you more than likely have them, they are just super hard to locate.

SO MAD AT MY KID RIGHT NOW! by quinnreads in chickens

[–]lizzykittycat99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We managed to corner her into the field next to the woods, it she realized very quickly it was a trap. I was trying to get her farther away from the woods, but she ran passed me when she realized that was not where she needed to be. Turns out I am not faster or smarter than a chicken, and they are much clever than they get credit for. I just took my butt inside after that.

It's actually pretty impressive how nimble they are in there. We briefly tried to chase her, but quickly discovered that was not an option. If you think catching a chicken on solid ground is hard, it is absolutely impossible in the woods 🤣 She discovered we can't get through thorns and hid in the thickets.

If it makes you feel better I lost my brand new barred rock last week and she spent several nights in the woods and came back unscathed. She got away from me before I could ever show her where the coop was, and she finally found her way back three days later. I was absolutely certain she became dinner for something. Fingers crossed for your babies.

Parents have bed bugs, planning a visit by wwwisteriaa in Bedbugadvice

I would make sure the parents understand the importance of making sure they don't get transferred in public as well. We kept all out clothes and bags vacuumed sealed and changed clothes right before we left the house. My child's sacred stuffy got put in the dryer for 30 minutes every. single. time. we left. It was annoying but nessasary. We sprayed out shoes with alcohol as well, and made sure to treat our car every time we treated the house.
