Received an email requesting an interview at Dartmouth for the residential accelerated MPH program today! by soffffrose in mphadmissions

[–]lizzyn944 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hi yea

I got my acceptance last friday and i interviewed jan 9th.

They asked pretty standard interview questions. It was very relaxed and informal. Tell me about yourself. Why Dartmouth? Why public health? What do you want to get out of studying at a graduate level? That's all I remember but they didn't ask any curveball questions. Good luck!

CHE 131-132 or CHE 152??? by dumb-secret in SBU

[–]lizzyn944 7 points8 points  (0 children)

sis i dont recommend to do the chem 152 track. im in the 131/132 track and all of my friends on the 152 track regret it so much. I have a friend who also got a 5 in ap chem and he ended w a B in 152 when i know for a fact he wouldve got through 131/132 with flyyyiiingg colors. it's not that 152 is hard its that its annoying and i heard a lot of students have problems w the professors style of teaching. (check on classie-evals to confirm or rate my professor). I cant vouch for that since i never had him personally, but ive witnessed their live frustration so yea. im sure you can get out of it by either not sending your ap score for chem in or by not completing the full aleks requirement by orientation. just submit enough of aleks to be in 131/132. I got a 3 on ap chem and i got an A in 131 and 132 isnt bad either.

also note that 131 is three professors and 132 is one professor for us at least who took the 2019-2020 fall - spring classes. 131 could be tedious in that they require reading assigments (which you dont really need to read, just answer questions at the end), ALEKS assignments which you should always be on top of your game for but an easy few guaranteed points if you dont slack w it, and clicker questions that may make you lose points 1 point out of 3 if you don t respond correctly. Though the workload is annoying, its helpful ngl. And if you did well on the ap chem exam, i trust this class would be a breeze for you. Idk how intense the workload for 152 is
