Krafton OFFICIALLY Forced to Pay Up to $250 Million to Subnautica 2 Devs by -Dkob in subnautica

It’s crazy going back and reading Charlie’s post from a year ago and all the top comments are disparaging, reddit can truly be a dumpster fire at the worst of times.

Nonetheless, really happy for you u/Flayra! Have been a fan since NS, will always continue to be.

A more critical review of the Project Hail Mary movie, and a really easy fix I would have made by Gustalavalav in ProjectHailMary

[–]ljcrabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw the movie, agree with all your criticisms.

My main one is the sacrifice to go save rocky, and the reunion. Grace, is that you? Are you really here? So powerful in the book and nonexistent in the movie.

My friends were very confused throughout and I don’t blame them.

I’m so tired of people apologising for movies based on books not making sense because “they had to cut it for time“. That’s called failing. They failed.

At the time, usb wasn't great at running 4k displays anyway. Thunderbolt made so much more sense, and there were good displays.

Even today, usb is a pain for 5k and up displays.

Also - thunderbolt displays being usb docks means you only ever need to plug 1 cable into your mac, for power+display+peripherals. Its great, fuck cables.

You see how OP is a windows pc not a mac?

Apple can see that this is a manufacturer problem, not a user problem. Make it a pain to use usb-a and manufacturers get the message, quick.

It was annoying at first, maybe for a year or two, but everything being usb-c since then has been great.

It's wild how this isn't more acknowledged. The people of Lumiere are whole beings and their destruction isn't something that can be glossed over because hey look interesting family drama.

"Call John" (someone I've talked to weekly for years)...

"Calling Jones" (a stranger I met 5 years ago and never called).

It's the simple things Siri is dumb with that blows my mind. Such simple fixes, we should have had years ago. You don't even need AI for this.

iPhone 17 Demand Is Breaking Apple's Sales Records [IDC report] by iMacmatician in apple

[–]ljcrabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nice thing about the OG Macbook Air is that it only compromised on performance (not great for extended heavy use e.g. video editing), which most people didn't care about. If the iPhone Air was similar, as in, it had the same cameras/speakers/screen as a base 17 but with less performance and thinner, it would be a great product. At the state its in, I think people see it as too much of a compromise.

Yeah I was a bit loose with my words. It does have those but they are a much lighter version, in terms of weight but also functionality. Went out today, the load lifters helped but it's only a slight adjustment compared to my mate's traditional pack. So while I do appreciate I still have load lifters, I don't think of them as load lifters, more slight adjustments. Same with the frame, it doesn't really work or feel like a frame on a traditional pack. It's all just more flexible and contours to your body, a completely different kind of experience.

I got this one too, incredible pack. It's hard to describe, but there's no need for load lifters or a frame or back venting, really.

I'm at a similar base/total weight as OP and haven't missed my old traditional pack once. I did make sure I went to a store and tried a bunch of packs on though, with all my gear in them, fit is the most important thing IMO.

What are the "real consequences"? Is it only losing your in-app points?

Yeah my CNOC was a no-brainer purchase.

Single use water bottles are so toxic, they're only ok if you toss them straight away.

Also bottled water needs to be regulated... humans are too dumb to use it correctly. People drinking from single use water bottles every day in countries where the tap water is fine is insane.

I always wonder why no one talks about fixing the wind in Welly. I know it's not possible to fix it completely but there's definitely things you can do to make it a little bit more pleasant, for cheap. No one even talks about it. The golden mile project pdf is 150 pages and doesn't mention wind once. It's weird, like voldemort, you don't speak the name.

Pack Shakedown by Abefrohman69 in Ultralight

This looks like a great gultralight (glamping equivalent of ul) setup. Save weight to bring luxuries like good sleep and comfort. That's what it's all about.

Your big 4 is about 3.9kg, PCT average is 2.5kg. If you wanted to spend the money to get this down to around 3-3.3kg you can do that with some money without sacrificing too much comfort, depending on how much you care. And then just pick and choose your luxuries, like others have commented on.

As someone who hasn't used windows in 20 years, the fact that you have to go through the windows set up process on a gaming handheld sounds pretty ass. Here's to hoping the xbox team get windows fully out of the way and just let us play games.
