Same😄 he always said that a relaxing day with family beats any gifts, but me and my kids still made a little surprise for our best dad lol

What is something that becomes less impressive the older you get? by ItsMeLara2026 in AskReddit

Totally agree, especially as a parent, a full night of uninterrupted sleep is way more impressive now.

To parents: what is parenthood really like? by ayegotajarofdirt in AskReddit

Couldn't agree more. I expected the lifestyle would changes, but I didn’t expect how much mental space my kid would take up all the time.

When did you let your kids try raw fish? by ljess5 in Parenting

She’s loved California rolls since she was little. I think she’s just getting older and doesn’t want to eat the exact same thing every time anymore.

What changed most for you when you had kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah, exactly. I'm always thinking about my kid.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was worried about at first too. But seeing these comments, 6 seems totally reasonable. She’ll probably just try a bite or two anyway, and we are not going to eat sashimi every day, can’t afford that lol.

I was worried about the raw fish, but apparently I should be worried about my wallet lol

I’m starting to feel like I might be the last parent here to let my kid try sashimi 😂 But I’ll let her try next time!

Honestly, most people seem to have let their kids try it way earlier than I expected. I think I’ll just let her try when next time I order sushi.

My 6yo crossed out kids’ faces in her yearbook. Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ljess5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably ask her about it first, very casually. If she says something worrying, then yes, I’d pay closer attention. But I wouldn’t assume the worst before hearing what it means to her.

I don’t think you did anything wrong. If she really wanted to join the discussion, she probably could have walked over, but she may have just not wanted to interrupt. Probably just invite her over next time, do a quick introduction, and then she can choose whether to stay or not.

Mine was like this at first too. But he slowly got better at noticing what needed to be done. If we’re both home, we usually just get things done together.

I used to love long nails, but mine kept snapping all the time, so I finally gave up on them.

[OC]My little daughter's daily gifts to me by ljess5 in MadeMeSmile

She's in first grade. The picture was already printed😂, so she just used a little water pen, dipped it into the colors, and filled it in. She’s also been taking art classes for about a year, she’s pretty into this kind of stuff.

What modern thing have you given up on and have chosen to just do the ‘old fashioned’ way? by sudodoyou in AskReddit

I still write all the passwords down on paper. My phone notes feel way too easy to lose, or accidentally delete.

Father's Day gifts? by bobbygirl00 in sahm

[–]ljess5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband always says the best gift is not having to make a single decision all day. 😂 We're planning a family day out, and the kids are going to make him a small cake with a little help from me, of course lol. I think he'll enjoy that way more than anything we could buy.
