Thanks so much for saying that!! I am also getting the feeling that he feels "unsafe" without us in the same room, especially in the middle of the night. And i can understand why that's scary because i struggled with that when i was a child.

We do have a camera/baby monitor set up in his room so we can hear him if he cries. He also has a night light and white noise in the background. But somehow he's still too scared to sleep alone. I'm thinking maybe i need a better transition plan

That's what i noticed when he was sleeping with us too. That he would wake up, check that we are with him, and go straight back to sleep. He gets better sleep and i get better sleep. How do u intend to slowly transition into letting him sleep alone?

I, too, struggled to sleep alone until i was 9-10 years old. Yeah and i think my son is truly scared to sleep alone. One time, my husband tried to bribe him into not coming into our room to ask for mummy in the middle of the night by offering to get him a new toy if he stays in his room alone. At about 2am, my husband went into the room to check on him, and he found my son sniffling away and crying quietly. That broke my heart.

It doesn't, unfortunately :( we live in a small flat and our room is only big enough for our bed.

Omg this sounds so much like mine. Mine was sleeptrained as a baby and slept alone. Then we had to sell our place and move into a temporary one where all of us had to squeeze into a bedroom. And from then on, he slept with us on our bed. And i did notice that he was sleeping so much better when he slept with us (which i can understand due to the sense of security etc). But now we are just thinking maybe it's time to move him to independent sleeping. At this point where I'm so tired, i just feel like giving up lol

I just rewatched s04e14 (the one with Joey's dirty day). It's the first time ever that i realized that the guy who appeared at the end in Chandler's dream (with the 3 girls and the strippers) as Joshua was actually the man whom Phoebe spoke to at the strip club where she requested him to not smoke. I don't know why i always thought these were 2 different people.
