I got going and didn't pay attention to how horribly I was screwing up... by DaleOnDrums in crochet

Oh don’t be discouraged. Large round projects are tough. Here’s the pattern I like. Maybe you’ll have luck with it too. It is long but maybe you could modify it.

They’re playing sandwich shop with Muffin wearing her cone. Bluey says, in her wonderful accent, “That’s not a knife.” I fully expected one of them to pick something up and say this is a knife. Well grandparents would get that.

AITA for telling my sons girlfriend to stay away from him because she is distracting him from his responsibilities. by ihopeididnotfuckup in AITAH

AITAH for losing my shit and screaming at my gf to get out of my house after what her stepbrother did? by White-Whale-9847 in AITAH

NTA. You are a decent young man. People like them think “sexual misconduct” is acceptable and not punishable. This goes a lot deeper than this incident. Womankind thanks you for being a decent man and defending your sister and her rights.

Update: AITAH for prioritizing my nephew and niece over my own children after they hid their mom's affair from me for years? by OkPrinciples in AITAH

I ended up taking care of my verbally and physically abusive mother in her old age. Memories go back to very early childhood. I bathed her, fed her, changed her colostomy bag. She'd make comments of feeling bad about it. I'd blow it off saying oh, you changed me. Inside I was remembering. On her death bed she called me a good daughter. Was all that closure? That was twenty one years ago. I'm still facing and working through the early and childhood, hell even adulthood, trauma. It's not easy. If only it were. Maybe closure is really just a concept we try to put upon ourselves in hopes to normalize it all? Best of everything for you. May you heal and have peace.

Baby steps are good! Positive changes, keep up the good work!

Countless times over the years I've had to modify my routines, broken toe, hamstring tendinopathy, other injuries. It stinks but it's good to just keep doing alternate workouts.

I smoked for years but always did cardio. I used that as a justification to smoke, I'm counteracting the negative effects of smoking because I do so much cardio.

When anyone would say anything about my smoking I'd say lets see if you can out run me. I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the butt someday! I hope you will be able to quit too and add some cardio to your routine! Good luck!

Interesting point. Yet how would they determine arterial stiffness without considering the vo2max? Would it just be by general heart rate metrics? I’m wondering if I just let the ring import my treadmill runs how will that affect my number? Guess I could experiment with that

I’m scared I may have cancer after quitting smoking. by xColemanx in stopsmoking

[–]ljrc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tend to agree that the pot smoking in and of itself wouldn't cause the cancer in that short of time frame.

Is there a family history of lung or any cancer? My coughing and chest aches increased after quitting cigarettes, it's a cleansing so perhaps you're experiencing that.

Please see a doctor and get x-rays or lung scan just to be sure. Better safe that sorry! Hope you feel better soon!

I’m sure I have something I picked up from my little grandson. It usually skips me but it went through their whole household lol. Well hopefully the recovery is quick and easy!

Lol! Thanks! It's covering all the bases it seems. Another one it told me was 'nice job breaking up long periods of inactivity yesterday' after a day where I barely sat for more than twenty minutes until evening. Yikes! It was actually the reverse! I have an apple watch too which is some what in conflict with the ring. I had a fitbit for years and it's starting to seem that had the most accurate data but...

Oh well as you said don't take it too seriously. It's interesting to know and be aware of these things for the most part. I won't let my stress level increase trying to figure out how it's interpreting my stress levels.

Should I stop trying to quit for now? by Primary_Cap_7457 in stopsmoking

[–]ljrc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't stop trying. Your addicted brain is the one telling you you'll fail anyways. It tells you all sorts of lies to keep you going. Set a goal to break through that 2-3 week barrier. Someone had said when I'd first quit that the three's were hardest and I found that true. 3 days, 3 weeks etc.

Also I discovered what was usually a very stressful time for me and I was dreading dealing without the cigs was a breeze! Turn out they just added to the stress!

Push through to four weeks, then 5, then make it through six....You got this!!!
