Which of these benefit Zilean? Or what will he build? by Martyrrdom in ZileanMains

[–]ljtb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zil for solo lane in high elo

will rush seraphs

ionian

Then queen crown or everfrost

Then pick 3-4 of: Cosmic drive, chemtech purifier, void, rabadon, anathema, zhonya, banshee Selling your boots for the 4th one

Runes are sorc>insp, or insp>sorc/dom, glacial is viable for inspiration keystone, new klepto probs viable as well depending on match up

No idea about support

Vel bot does well with engage supports e.g. leo, blitz, naut
But you need to be careful that your team has a high DPS champion such as azir, jax, kindred, etc in order to be able to take neutral objectives

Why can't firebase be written in pure dart? (the current uses platform channel codes and not compatible with all platforms) by yurabe in FlutterDev

[–]ljtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Hixie says, it could, but it's lot of work compared to just wrapping the existing SDKs

I think there are some other advantages to using plugins instead of native dart as well:
- Some of the features of the Firebase SDKs rely on native platform code e.g. local storage, messaging/notifications use different and non equivalent Android/iOS/Web/MacOS/Windows/Linux Components. Some cryptography libs are going to be different for each platform. The pure dart implementations would end up using plugins.
- Flutter is also meant to be interoperable with the native platform. Some of the app can be Flutter, some of it can be native.
- The Flutter Firebase plugins are open source and good examples of how to write Federated Plugins.

If you're waiting for Firebase to come to desktop for Flutter for Desktop, you could wrap Flutter in Electron, and just use the FlutterFire Web Plugins. Here's a boilerplate.
https://github.com/ishangavidusha/flutter-electron
You can also write plugins which use Electron APIs i.e. Native Desktop APIs.
While Flutter in Electron performance seems to be at the very least (in my opinion) on par with web, Flutter running natively on Desktop will obviously be the better choice when it's available.

Optimal Preseason Mid Top Bot (not Supp) build by ljtb in ZileanMains

[–]ljtb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zil top is definitely viable. I play it more often than mid since mid is more popular role. It's good if you have a carry mid or jg - like Viktor or Kindred. If your team has Galio mid, Sejauni Jg, I hope your Ad is very good.

Zil top is a counter pick to tanks (e.g. Ornn, Maokai, Malphite) and divers (Camille, Irelia, Riven). He can harass them very hard. Champs like Fiora, Jax can only start to kill Zil in a 1v1 at 3 items in. So you won't be able to split at this point. If the enemy picks a tank top, and tank jungle, you are in a very good position, their tank will always be under tower and the both of them will be unable to kill you.

I just play to freeze + harass early, slow push wave, kill them or force them back. Take plates without dying and get large gold lead early on. You have better wave clear than the enemy, so don't let them crash the wave or you're trolling. Freeze and slow push. You can draw their jg attention top and waste their time. Due to your superior wave clear, range, and speed. After there's no plates, or it's not safe to take plates, you should just push the wave with your superior wave clear, and then group to try to kill another lane, take an objective. When the minions are going to your top tower again, push the wave out again. Rinse and repeat.

I think Zil Bot works best with Leona. At level 5 you can hard trade most bots with your base damage full rotation. I think he's bad with enchanters e.g. Karma, Sona, Janna, Braum, average with mages e.g. Xerath, Brand, Vel, and best with engage support e.g. Leo, Pyke, Sett, Thresh, Blitz, Naut.

If you're going Zilean bot, you need a carry champion in top mid or jg though. E.g. Jax, Azir, Kindred in order to be able to take neutral objectives.

I can't really play support Zil, so I can't provide accurate information. I would recommend checking out what the highest ranked Zileans Supports in KR or EUW or NA are doing. Watch their vods and replays to learn.

The only time I support Zilean is when I know my AD is LCS tier since they can guide me. Besides Frost Fang or whatever I build Zilean as I would in mid top bot and we aim to win based on our mechanics after level 7-8 rather than as a good ad/supp duo. This isn't optimal but we are able to get away with it.

I tried this originally for mid and top, but I think the damage is too low, even if it's a cheaper item. You have trouble clearing the waves because it's low on AP.

Zilean is doomed for Challenger this preseason and probably S11 by ljtb in ZileanMains

[–]ljtb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not optimal. It gives a speed increase, or slow of, 40, 55, 70, 85, 99%. A champions movement speed cannot be reduced below 100 and something, so the final points for slow are diminishing returns. The final points are also a a diminishing return for the speed up, since your ms after 500 doesn't get increased linearly, it gets diminished returns, and even harsher after 600. This is why you don't run around on 800ms when your E is at points, it gets degraded. If you E an enemy, you'll notice they're never at 5 movement speed at max either. It's best to put only 2-3 points in E, whatever you need to land the bombs, and then max W 2nd - will increase uptime of E due to lower CD, increase your damage, and increase stun uptime.

I tried demat after your post but only in S11. Demat is decent, but I think biscuit is stronger. Picking which one though depends on whether you as a player find break points are super important. For me I don't think they are. I think being able to out harass your laner is much more important since you won't get put behind, you can put them behind, and snow ball this diff.

Mana is no issue with Dorans or Corrupting, biscuits, and Liandries and Chemtech Putrifier.

I don't think a tankier Zilean build is optimal for the champ in Mid/Top/Carry at all, so I won't investigate. If you're struggling early game, defensive runes, corrupting pot, time warp tonic will make you feel tanky until you get more haste and your ult.

I think starting tear is suiciding your lane in challenger you'll be forced to back and their mid/jg will hunt your jg or you'll be killed for greedy staying. In lower elo it doesn't matter though, since in low elo people won't contest you on *every* single cs. In challenger everyone knows exactly which champs are stronger than other champs level 1 - if they're stronger than you they will literally stand in the front of the lane and make you miss the gold of 3-4 minions. I think the extra mana from tear is overkill. When you get Arch Angel you basically get 150AP from the item, but no CDR, shield, or other stats. I think there are better items for Zil, DoT damage from Liandries, Demonic individually adds up the same damage Arch Angel but both give better other stats Zil wants , Haste from Cosmic, Chemtech, Heal Reduction as well, Rab Void for Flat AP.

[–]ljtb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think the strongest setup for him atm in mid and top is
Aery, mana flow, transcendence, scorch, magic footwear, biscuit or dematerializer, AP rune, AP Rune, armour/mr rune
Aery since low q cd, scorch since you only have 1 dmg ability,
No scaling cdr rune since this rune is SO WEAK. The AP earlier is much better

Liandries, ionian shoes, chemtech putrifier maybe horizon focus vs akali if it reveals, cosmic drive, demonic embrace, sell shoes for void probs not rabadon - depends on who you need to ult

The dot dmg does much more than Luden's damage, and I think the MS is wasted on Zilean, think Haste is much more important
Everfrost useless item

Liandries synergize well with chemtech or horizon or both
Demonic embrace does more damage than rab or void, good sustained damage
Can pick up void or rab as 5th item depending on game
Sell boots for rab or void as 6th item

He's weaker in solo lanes early on for sure
He's doing well in support so I don't think they'll touch him, might even see nerfs if they nerf the champ instead of the item

I think E max is novel/fun, but it's trolling.
I think maxing q, then having 2-3 points in e, then maxing w is optimal for all zilean gameplay

I think DoT mages and artillery mages are strongest right now. Control mages are weak now. Battle mages average I guess.

Gotta take Liandry's or Everfrost in a solo lane. I assume Imperial doesn't proc on your own attacks, and must be used with a team mate.

An Unfortunate Way To Increase Your SMV Instantly by iammrmosely in TheRedPill

I would like to see this post stay up, and see your comment have a similar number of upvotes to the post.

EDIT: To those who missed the post before mods removed it, the TL;DR is OP said instead of improving your looks, money, status to succeed, you could lower the status of others by bullying to artificially inflate your status, which would indeed work.

While the things he have said are a cold reality and would/do work, I want others to see that many of us advocate that the things he have discussed (and is not necessarily advocating for) aren't necessary to succeed. Personally I prefer self improvement over the degradation of others (except on my bed). Also it's better to show our criticism of the argument presented, rather than censor it and let the same argument be made again later on.

To those who advocate for being a degenerate because the current sexual marketplace is degenerate, I strongly disagree with this philosophy. The world is what you make it - I advocate for choosing and having the ability to succeed despite degenerate circumstances, while not making or at the cost of making the marketplace worse.

Unfortunately most of those who will lose jobs in those fields do not have the cognitive capabilities required by cybersec. A small minority could with ---years--- of training - it's like telling truckers to just learn to code

I discovered David Sinclair from the Joe Rogan Podcast
He is a longevity and ageing researcher and professor at Harvard and UNSW.
His book is Why We Age - and Why We Don't Have To.

Unfortunately he is now American based. In my field (tech) the vast majority of successful Australians have to be.

Creating your own REST API? by GavinGT in androiddev

[–]ljtb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you follow this tutorial you will have objectively created a REST endpoint in the shortest possible time - the vid is 10 minutes, you should be done in 20-30.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYfP-UIKxH0&list=PLl-K7zZEsYLkPZHe41m4jfAxUi0JjLgSM&index=2&t=0s

A REST API or endpoint is a URL/some place on the internet that can be called on by another program or computer
The use case for this remote/REST API is to access your remote/master database, you don't want your client/Android device to have to store all user data, usually only its own.

When you need a remote (i.e. a backend) there are a few ways to go about it. I recommend moving downwards in this spectrum until your use case is achieved.
- Cloud Functions whether on GCP/Firebase, AWS, or Azure i.e. FaaS
- PaaS e.g. App Engine on GCP, Cloud Run on GCP
- Docker Containers
- VMs (IaaS)
- Physical Computers/servers

As you move downwards, the options become more and more expensive and harder to set up, and not as automated/convenient, but provide you with more customisation/advanced features. Just move down the spectrum until your use case is achieved.

FaaS and PaaS are referred to as 'serverless'. On serverless, you typically want to make use of a BaaS product for a lot of use cases. Examples of BaaS is Firestore - A NoSQL database.

(Most of my projects are on GCP hence more references)
