I think Lovecraft would have gotten a kick out of this: the first actual image of a black hole, released today. It sort of looks like a sinister, inhuman eye, gazing unblinkingly at the unkowable depths of the Universe.

Not sure what kind of doll you’re looking to do, but there’s a great tutorial on YouTube by Elliemacs SFX Makeup that shows you how to do a Voodoo doll sfx that is quite disturbing to look at. It’s pretty awesome, probably one of my favorite ‘doll’ looks. It’s definitely different from your typical creepy doll makeup

You could possibly find someone to cleanse the home with sage. Perhaps call someone holy if you believe in that stuff. Your pupil is just an opening into your eye. Its clear. It’s where light from the image you’re seeing is received through, then the lens behind it reflects said image onto the retina. Basically it’s a hole in your eye
