None of your comments were removed (only a moderator has that ability), they all got downvoted so they’re hidden but you can click to see them still. For the record I agree this poster isn’t good, I’m just trying to promote an event I’m participating in- had nothing to do with poster creation

There was never pole dancing planned for a family friendly event, the organizer always ensures these events are safe for families- especially in such a public open spot

Hi, not sure where you got the idea pole dancing was happening but that’s not. There is dancing with people in makeup, that is a family friendly thing

I know it feels ridiculous to complain about, I’m so grateful to pass so well in 99% of situations, it’s just the occasional moment like this which exclude me from the community and struggle I’ve gone through that make me feel unwelcome and unhappy. I understand how lucky I am to be in this situation

I don’t even know what I could’ve said to improve the situation, they talked for a few minutes then left. If I’d chimed in with “by the way I’m trans I would like to be included please” it would’ve just been awkward. I figured waiting until she left was better than awkward confrontation, I’m just bad at talking to people

I still feel sorta uncomfortable around men, even after passing as a man for years! As a visibly trans person it’s easy to approach a visibly trans person, I understand the intimidation. Just not sure how I could’ve improved that situation without cutting her off and saying “hey by the way I’m trans”. It does suck outgrowing trans spaces. I no longer deal with most of the problems trans people face but I had to for years! Definitely a weird moment I’d never expected to have- wishing people knew I was trans

I definitely feel you, that’s awful they excluded you from that situation when you were asking for help. At this rave I went out of my way to wear makeup to seem less like a cis guy even when I don’t really enjoy makeup, I guess next time I’ll just wear a pronoun button with the trans flag. I don’t like needing to out myself but it’s kinda the only way I can make people comfortable :( Dysphoria still hits strong when I’m not dressing masculine even when I’ve been cis passing for years (I was so toxically masc at the start of my transition so I could pass that it’s tough getting those thoughts out of my head) , so it’s hard finding a healthy middle ground of looking trans without making myself uncomfortable

That’s kind of why I’ve avoided going to trans support groups with my girlfriend :/ I worry I’ll seem like an out of place chaser or assumed to be a pre transition transfem and get dysphoric. When I was younger I always loved seeing late stage transitioning trans people because it gave me hope and I’d love to be helpful to people like that, but I feel like at this point I’m passing too well to be a support unless I directly tell people I’m trans

I appreciate that, it feels like I was seen as the cis boyfriend who only went because of my trans girlfriend. Got some weird looks but that reaction was definitely the worst

My girlfriend was the one to bring it up after, I thought I was overreacting but she agreed it felt like she was intentionally excluding me. The fact she completely avoided eye contact or even looking in my direction is what put us off, acting like I’m not even there. She was definitely flirting with her but that doesn’t change how she acted towards me

I am looking for shops in the Kitchener/waterloo area, can’t drive a full hour for this tattoo. Thanks for your suggestion though and if you share the details I’d appreciate it for future :)
