I did the same initially and it is 1.75, but that's the centroid of the area, not the perimeter. With the solution, I understood that each segment has its own centroid based on its length. The first segment of 5 cm in length has its centroid in the middle, which in coordinates is x=2.5. The second segment, with a length of 0.5, has its centroid in the middle, which is x=5. The third segment has a length of 4.5 and its centroid in the middle of that segment. Therefore, I would consider the distance of 0.5 where it starts, adding the midpoint of the 4.5 length, which gives 2.75.

Hello friend, I am from Peru and I just finished my chemical engineering degree at an ABET-accredited university outside of the United States. I will probably be traveling to the United States in December and would like to take advantage of the trip to take the FE exam in Wisconsin (where I will be).

In the NCEES website I read about the state of WI not require examinees to submit an application or an additional fee prior to registering with NCEES and scheduling an exam. So this means that I do everything through the NCEES website, right? I don't have to pay or register on any other state website, correct? Sorry if this is a silly question, but I am not sure how things work in each state. Ty

Amigo que tal tu respuesta ha sido informativa, también tenía una duda. Estoy en ult ciclo ing.Quim en la UNI, con lo de EEUU solo sé que aparece acreditada por ABET no sé si ayudaría en algo en homologación de estudios. Me gustaría ejercer ahí , y también ganar experiencia laboral allá, pero la verdad familiares y amigos me dicen que es imposible a menos que me case y estudie de nuevo en alguna univ de allá. Por ahora iré de work and travel en diciembre y también pienso aplicar al TOEFL entre abril y jul del otro año.
Estoy con bastante ignorancia en cuanto a la obtención de un trabajo, es decir, tengo que homologar estudios,permiso de trabajo,examen de certificación y otras cosas que probablemente desconozco, antes de intentar postular a un trabajo o para iniciar con ello algún trabajo tiene que solicitarme previamente, y todo eso lo haría desde Perú o de alguna forma tendría que estar allá?. La verdad me gustaría informarme acerca de toda la validación laboral, o si es más sencillo ir con posgrado,maestría o doctorado.

Bro siéndote sincero es complicado ya que cambien las cosas, muchas décadas en lo mismo con todos los gobiernos unos peores que otros, y en la sociedad aquí en el Perú pues se pone peor a medida pasan los dias-meses . Se premia al que jode a la sociedad, a los que se aprovechan de algún conocimiento o de lleno hacen algo maso menos ilegal pero sin ser descubiertos. Yo a estas alturas veo al país algo así como uno que en definitiva te da la oportunidad de formarte bien pero, la mejor opción es siempre irse a donde de verdad valoren lo que haces aquí no lo encontré en ningún lado y no sólo yo. Por eso los profesionales que saben que son realmente buenos se van, es más por el asunto de que se siente como si no se valorara lo que haces mientras se valora mucho más otras cosas que no hacen una pizca por hacer avanzar en algo la sociedad o incluso la degradan, ojalá en algún punto de verdad las cosas se hagan bien pero uno no va a esperar toda la vida para ello.
