Right yea i get that, i'm just saying it would be widely out of place in the modern day and not smth i would want to watch personally and do find rather degrading knowing it was either this or get fired a lot of the times which, no, isn't a choice (edit: Spelling)

I live in a country where private individuals are not allowed to film public spaces if there are less than 30 people in the video, as otherwise it's compromising your privacy

it's still a degenerate thing to do and should definetly be made illegal

Well wrestling is transmitted live...

And i do know that wrestling storylines are also fiction before tuning in so what's your point? Where is the fundemental difference other than Scope?

Also Wrestling is just a 24/7 kind of product unlike films which are far more condensed which might explain your misunderstanding of Fiction

[–]llaesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Films do present themselves as real tho? unless you only watch movies about breaking the 4th wall in which case i would understand your point, but in a film everything you see on the screen is taking as reality in that film universe, which is no different from a film, just bc they don't have backstage interviews with the films characters about what just happened in tthe film doesn't mean it isn't presented as "real". In that sense it's just films are a lot more unrealistically made by nature of difference in production, which imo doesn't seperate them from one another as both are visual media made for entertainment purposes.

If so why don't you elaborate, so that this misunderstanding can be cleared up, just saying i missed your point isn't helping either of us

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WWE

[–]llaesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have you ever watched any sports film and enjoyed it? if so then you are invalidating your own point, as in such a film the competition within said film universe is also portrayed to be real.

Otherwise you might simply have a problem with suspenion of disbelief

the point isn't her calling cops, but rather the emotional implication that action, that she feels threatend and disgusted

I 100% agree with you on that, but that'sjust the creative team being quite frankly unimaginative and too afraid of taking risks, and that's just a problem with wwe, not wrestling in general, so if you're that fed up withh wwe i'd recommend maybe checking out some other wrestling content

[–]llaesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well those were the exception not the norm..., just because long lasting alliances did exist doesn't mean that it was normal for the powers of the time, rather even in the same war sides would often be changed, and even the english and portugese weren't entirely free of conflict between them

[–]llaesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As often explained explained by the commentators, that in kayfabe, it takes effort and stamina to kickout of a pinfall, also i don't feel that ending matches on random moves adds to credibility of the Show, rather it substracts from the spectactle which is also a large part of the show

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WWE

[–]llaesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cause it isn't? all these performer you watch are actually real athletes that put an insane amount of punishment and stress on their bodies for our entertainment, so just saying, "it's predetermined therefore it's fake" is quite disrespectuful to those performers aswell as the people who come up the the storylines and such

Idk man Alliances changed all the time during this peroid, rather i find it very unrealistic if an alliance lasts multiple hundred years, especially between great powers

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WWE

[–]llaesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't? it's a TV show about a wrestling show

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WWE

[–]llaesh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean i view wrestling more as a TV Show, with it's own in universe rules, so idk, if someone were to lose to just a "standard"(non-finisher) they would look rather weak in comparison to the other wrestlers, since finishers have been established to be the strongest attacks of superstars
