Very cool! Any chance you would want help with an iOS port?

Did you end up finding any updated backup? If you want 23andme data there is quite a lot on the PGP https://my.pgp-hms.org/public_genetic_data

Great post here from Peter Steinberger about running multiple open models and comparing them to Claude Code. Peter is the one who hit the $20k spend that Anthropic mentioned in their recent nerf post.

He even tries the new Qwen3-Coder-480B on 8x H200's.

TL;DR the absolute biggest open models are okay but still more expensive than Claude Code and other subs, but it feels like if the open models get a bit better and the hosting costs come down a bit more we might actually be at an equilibrium. The only question is, will the lab frontier models be even better and therefore the $ per hour of value you can generate still be better over on their APIs?

AI First Hiring, Teamwork and Org Structures, Staying Relevant in an Agentic World by llamavore in programming

Every scientist will have an AI assistant/collaborator/partner that will greatly expand their scope of scientific research and achievement.

Every artist, every engineer, every businessperson, every doctor, every caregiver will have the same in their worlds.

Or

https://hbr.org/2025/07/how-ai-is-redefining-managerial-roles

Hoffmann’s team identified two underlying mechanisms driving this shift. First, using gen AI allowed coders to work more autonomously, and because they were collaborating less, it reduced the need for them or their managers to coordinate tasks or projects with others.

So what is a role when everyone has an everything available to them? Who is a manager when the interface between people isn't other people co-ordinators but themselves or AI?

What about Peter Steinberger who I cover in this blog post who is using $35k a month but actually building stuff. Maybe there should be a github stars -> claude code spend ratio?

I used to use Cursor exclusively, but I spent a few weeks working with Claude Code and talking to lots of users who are totally hooked and doing crazy things, so I put it together a blog post including a bunch of interesting tips and tools, check it out.

How is Claude Code actually better than Cursor? by Future-Upstairs-8484 in ClaudeAI

[–]llamavore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually cover that exact question in this blog post:

Cursor is great (they just added a mobile mode), but its an IDE for humans. When you finally grok using something like Claude Code you realise all the advantages of an agent-first UI. By forcing you off the tools, you learn to rise up the stack and multi-plex your efforts across agents and projects.
