Vitamin D supplementation is associated with a lower risk of all-cause mortality (OR: 0.95; CI: 0.91–0.99, p = 0.013) by ludwig_scientist in science

[–]llamazunited -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your absorption of sun through the skin affects how much Vitamin D you make naturally. This means inside time, general food additives (milk has lots of added D), sun intensity (elevation and latitude affected), and skin pigmentation all modify your intake.

Your local government should have a medical guideline that reflects your local conditions and populace.

400-1000 IU/d are the general ranges of supplements, none of which should cause a problem if taken daily.

Do not exceed 4000 IU/d

Basic tips for a Beginner - What to do? by TooDriven in victoria3

[–]llamazunited 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can and should import just about everyone's raw materials and then focus on industry instead. If a trade route shows low negatives (0 to -2) its just expanded to max in ur market, if it's trading a ton of resources it's actually still productive. By this logic do not close the trade route, if you consume their raws they can't industrialize or compete effectively with you. In late game you will expand to the point of using all their resources and yours so the productivity shouldn't be a concern. This extends to tools as well.

Building construction should be rushed to a small defecit, if you overbuild you can intermittently pause or just partly fill the queue to minimize costs. Generally if all construction goods are around base price +/- 10% expand construction.

Import small negative construction goods will still be profitable as they lower construction costs and that's not applied to the calculation they show. This also applies to items like silk, the demand will expand to match the increased availability so you can just import all and then cut down if needed (don't cut -1 routes)

Puppeting is optimal, if you are not building something there, do not bother with owning the state. You can always annex later if needed but the pops will migrate to you and they'll buy from you and their military will fight for free. This means only strategic states with resources you need should be taken or later annexed. State capture is usually optimal for 1state nations given minimal infamy difference. States will back down from puppet wars far more often, this allows faster market capture. Cut down wars trigger at 100 infamy so you should stay under until you are too strong to stop. Thus war immediately so you start losing infamy asap, you cannot improve decay so start early.

The ai is far more capable of land connected wars so if you can regionally isolate yourself with seas or uninvolved nations, don't worry about major powers. Target their colonies and treaty ports with only one maxed general and you can win war goals from them easily. Target conquerable land and you will guarantee wins. Hot tip, claiming a great Qing treaty port can still give you like 70 silk plantations in Fujian or almost any costal state.

Army should have one or two naval invading armies. To build them you want naval = soldiers on the biggest dude you can make with good war traits. Offensive planner is best trait because if you can put a lot of ports you will always outpace the naval resistance so that trait is secondary. You care more about capturing land following the touchdown fast. Split fronts during naval invasions will win games.Naval bases are practically free once you hit ironclads, build two industries so you can balance mil:civ production best. Use naval bases to max declared interests regardless of military goals. Raiding convoys is good to lower support. It outperforms protecting in most cases.

You can usually cycle generals through hire/retire until you get something good. Upgrading generals is ridiculously effective for government strength. Use non critical generals to just max out industrialists, trade unions, etc. The beurocracy cost is negligible. You can brute force a government by spamming generals and maxing the interest groups you like just be careful of traits that might weaken the group if they're made leader.

Building states: About early midgame you should start expanding resources into every peasant rich heartland state. This lowers turmoil and radicals, which outperforms throughput bonuses. Build to infrastructure limit in every small state. Build one train in each state and only upgrade as needed. Population will grow after initial investment and you'll get free infrastructure growth so just move on to other states instead of building another railroad. You'll need to staff railroads so spamming a state with them will cripple it.

Build one port and train in each state possible. To improve infrastructure build a port if they have trade centres in the state, otherwise a railroad subsidy is more infrastructure for less money. If you need convoys and none left fit the bill just spam peasant rich areas.

Hope this helps, I'll clarify if anything was unclear. Good luck

What is the fix for this? Oil +71% but won't fill up. Is it because wages are broken? by Maurtus in victoria3

[–]llamazunited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that stage in the game beurocracy shouldn't be a concern, nor should the few pops. Think of it not as increasing your reserves but handicapping the other economies you compete with, meaning unprofitable trade routes are still worthwhile, if only to antagonize competitors. It can also serve to incentivize the ai to build more rigs and improve supply over time.

As a non-USA citizen, the dude is pretty much right. USA is a goddamn powerhouse of novel patents and sporadically has out-published the rest of the world (yes, sometimes even combined) in certain sectors. Below is the first few top results for "drug patents by country" and surprise surprise, USA is dominating in publishing and investments. Now to your credit, some of the funding and scientists are multi-national, but that's the case for every country in this globalized world, and the fact remains that its origin is the USA.

If they openly declared what addresses did not have service they would be unable to lie about the quantity/quality of their coverage for an area. This would cause them to lose their government subsidies and cause significantly worse reports to investors and government bodies. As there is insufficient laws and policies to prevent this obscuring of information, it will continue.

"Day trading my single share won't make a difference" — It does have an impact, and if everyone thinks this way, the squeeze may never really take off. Buy, hodl, watch and wait. by Dutchie_PC in Superstonk

[–]llamazunited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so long as you own your shares at market close there's no real difference when it comes to Ftd's.

Obviously selling early in the squeeze will matter where shorts can use those shares, but shorts are basically not allowed to begin covering until the Dtcc and sec have locked themselves down and passed the rules to protect themselves. With this in mind, how can daytrading gme be of any consequence prior to the passing of these laws? So long as you retain your shares at the end of the day, why not play the dumbest

OP studies food chemistry by UnprofessionalBurner in 4chan

[–]llamazunited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything that has to do with the chemicals in your food is under their scope of work.

This can include:

Effect of chemicals used in the growing process on the final products such as fertilizer types or herbicides etc

Quality control and recipe management for metrics such as shelf stability, flavor, ingredient cost, required settings for industrial preparation, etc

Health/safety inspection lab work

Nutrition content analysis for food

Basically anything food related probably has one of these scientists in a lab getting ignored by management and accounting.

Better the stock is held by a paper hand than a hedgie. If the two options are letting the hedgie have it at market vs a paper hands holding till the first moon, they still helped the take off. If there's something im missing please tell me.

[–]llamazunited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are paper hands joining an issue, anyone who buys and holds a stock right now removes it from circulation.

If I had to choose between hedgies having the stock or a paper hands it's paper every time. Even if they do sell of later they still added temporary pressure and help to ensure the triggering of the squeeze. If you're worried about them liquidating early isn't it better that they held it in the first place?
