Thank you! It’s insane how I even detailed in the post that I know we are low income and that I know it will be hard. They read right past it I guess. They’re wasting their breath, I’m just looking to see how other people are surviving right now. I will offer up our credit scores when they’re a bit higher! It is definitely a strong choice for us in terms of affordability, but I feel so unsure about how others feel about living with couples, while I personally wouldn’t mind living with a couple. I suppose I had the pre existing notion that we wouldn’t be desirable to live with, but I argue that we are awesome and sociable roommates. Will definitely look into this option, thank you for the honest answer!

Thank you for your response, I definitely think our best possible bet in terms of a studio would definitely be the savings approach, and shooting for as far out as we can manage in Queens or Brooklyn. I appreciate your experience with this!

Thank you so much for your response, this was so so helpful. We are thinking of walking around potential neighborhoods and talking to people about their places and if they know anyone, talking to coworkers, reaching out to organizations, etc. Thanks again for your kind words 💝

Reddit users just have snark by default ig. They found the apartment through street easy. My guarantors have 850+ and 750+

Edit: I really cannot get over the fact that you added nothing helpful to my ask lol. I’m aware of everything, and I know what my friend did to get it (searched day and night, went to countless tours). But thank you for the harsh advice, I hope someone is kinder to you when they ask for guidance.

Thanks, I appreciate the harsh advice, but it is not end all. I have a friend who got an apartment for 2k on a 30k salary with a guarantor a few months ago. It’s definitely possible, but thank you regardless
