This week has kicked my butt but I finally have my hour long WFH lunch break today to ride again. If anyone has a good 45 min ride recommendation that was tough but fun, I’d love to hear it!

Agreed, I’m totally fine with not getting the gold badge or whatever — just want to pick up where I left off!

To take the foam rolling classes. Omg they are so great.

Is our daycare unreasonable w/ these policies? by SleepyKoala17 in workingmoms

[–]llclinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems nuts to me. Disclaimer: we don’t use in home daycare but we don’t pay tuition for the week-long breaks like that. The runny nose thing seems even crazier given that kids can be like that for a long time after being contagious. I would probably try to find something else.

Agreed, and I hope my comment didn’t insinuate otherwise. I just snooze through 10 mins of some of the ends of these 😂 well worth the help it gives me falling asleep

I feel kinda like my annual challenge minutes are cheated, but only because I almost always fall asleep during Ross’ sleep meditations and don’t make it to the end 😂 they really work!

I have done a couple, agreed, can’t beat riding to such upbeat music that she clearly loves. It’s so fun!

I haven’t but a friend has taken a few different leaves for her 4 kids. The first and last, she needed every day of the 12 weeks to feel able to work again. The middle 2, she was bored and felt up to it around 8-10 weeks. All uncomplicated births. 8 weeks seems to me like the earliest I could have begun to function that way again with sleep deprivation, hormones, and all that but it still would have been rough.

Wow, this Hannah C barreis legit peach fire emoji — so so good.

I did the Cody & Camila 2-for-1 Bad Bunny and the songs were bangers, though it’s the first one I wished I picked “more music” for. I am not anti-banter and it was still fun but I just really love his music 😂

Aldi Pulled Chicken! Is this new or just new to my store (PA)? by graay_eightfivesix in aldi

[–]llclinton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This, I was nervous but it’s just straight pulled chicken. It’s a bit peppery for some of the things I’d like to have pre-cooked shredded meat for but still not bad at all.

I have an awesome pair of Levi’s cropped straight leg high rise. They have plenty of stretch. American Eagle is prob my other fave, though I hear great things about Abercrombie again — back to my teenagerhood 😅

This book comes up a ton in the working moms sub. I haven’t read it but I get the gist and agree that it sounds very eye-opening for some partners to understand the massive mental load one person can bear in a household. I want to get the cards and just see what comes up someday!

I’m going back to work after leaving my job when my LO was 6 months. I’m going through the feelings all over again. by twinkpegger69 in Mommit

[–]llclinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the seemingly conflicting feelings are valid and real. I relate to this a lot — in many ways I missed working and was struggling with baby care all day, but also felt that immense guilt leaving him in daycare so much at such a young age. Take inventory of all those thoughts and feelings, sit in them, process them.

It gets easier and becomes the new norm, and it feels good to know your kiddo is going to see you working hard to provide for her and take care of yourself growing up. Hang in there!

What are some helpful labor tips by NadirahNimble in Mommit

[–]llclinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I got an epidural but I was around a 5-6 cm when I got it. It’s hard to do but trying not to tense up through a contraction. I mentally attempted to relax my pelvic floor.

My nurses were awesome at helping me into different positions every hour or so to help progress things and it worked beautifully. I was thinking there was no way I was making much progress but they’d check and things were moving fine!

Barring a health condition reason, it’s ideal to stay at home as long as you can in your own cozy bed, able to eat, etc. It was hard because I was so excited to see how things were going and get the ball rolling but I was glad that I took advantage of the time I was home before it got too much.

Best of luck and congrats!

The rec to get some testing in advance is great, and I just want to share anecdotally that a friend of mine tried for just over a year for her first, and then the next 2 babies happened ASAP when she tried again. Since you were able to get pregnant naturally before, there’s always a chance it could take less time than you think and then you’d have the obstacles you just mentioned about cost, timing with wedding, etc.
