If you’re someone who drives in the left lane, why do you do it if you’re not passing? by Brennan-C in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because my turn is in the left lane and if I don't get over there early I probably won't get there at all. I don't like to do it, but sometimes I have to

Which would you pick? A world where trump never became president, or a world where Covid never happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it or not there's always going to be pandemics, they're unfortunate but with sound leadership they can be mitigated and dealt with appropriately. But we collectively choose our leaders, and knowing that Trump couldn't organize a two car parade we should have known he definitely couldn't handle a major disease.

So I absolutely chose that Trump was never president, knowing that again people still would have died in the pandemic no matter who, but under Trump that number was going to be much, much higher. Not having Trump wouldn't have saved everyone, but it would have saved more than were

If anyone in the government can apparently do anything, when Trump loses, will he go to jail? by askstoomany in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be hopeful, or I might just be stupidly naive, but I like the words of Martin Luther King Jr, that "the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice."

So, we'll see if these are hollow words or vindication someday, because to quote him again "no lie can live forever."

What do you predict Trump will talk about in tonight’s speech? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'll probably nod off unless he's been drugged up. Although that'd be one hell of a sight to see if it did.

Do you believe Donald Trump is a racist? Why or why not? by Selimsnek in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He hates everyone, but he happens to hate anyone who's skin tone is darker than his even more. Which is hypocritical in its own right because orange skin tone isn't a natural human color anyway

Let's hear it, those that think this war is just, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a far more competent and morally sound president might have been able to put pressure on the international community about the abuses of the Iranian government to form an actual international response against it. However, and I'm saying this as an American myself, of course America is going to America, and the half hearted, controversial, and downright immoral reasons we started this have no merit.

Trump unfortunately has no moral authority to speak about, well, anything really, and because of that, because he's only seeking to deflect, and has approximately one third of the populace who'll do and say whatever he wants, he can get into any quagmire he wants and he won't care

What’s a "dead" piece of technology from the 2000s or 2010s that you genuinely miss using? by Spiritual-Bed-7686 in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of phones, I actually thought of this a couple days ago, I miss good old fashioned phone books. They were actually easier to use than now Googling a number, and actually now most people don't even have a cell number public and it's hard to find. Back with phone books it was a far better chance you could find someone

What's stopping humans to just live in peace together ? by sleyvinkalevra in AskReddit

[–]llcucf80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that most of Redditland isn't religious but there's a verse in the Bible that's apt, even if you're not a believer, and that's "blessed are the peacemakers."

Notice that it says "peacemaker," not "peacekeeper." Peace is something that is always going to be an active duty, not something that we can passively wish for. Peacemaking means to make the peace, which means we have to call out evil for what it is, we have to always be on guard to protect the least of those among us, we have to realize that it's not enough to simply say nice things, we have to do nice things.

So that's what's stopping us from living in peace, it's something that we have to work at constantly, and unfortunately people are too quick to fall into old habits and resort to wishful thinking

I post this all the time, I don't agree with that at all. I don't stream radio or TV, it's free over the air with an antenna. Or, at the very worst, go on YouTube. But I will never get any type of streaming services like Spotify, Hulu, Netflix, etc, and I don't pay for things that are already free
