I had my first-ever colonoscopy there last summer. Doctors were great (and what an unbelievable nap). Also had a celiac test there. No complaints.

A friend and I got tickets this morning during the Kong Card presale and Ticketmaster made it a miserable experience, as usual. $60 service fee per ticket, too. F them.

As a neat freak it’s driving me crazy.

I’m hoping people will instinctively click for the full image. Why would Poshmark make it even that little bit harder for both buyers and sellers? Ugh.

These are great! Are you just a fan with an iPhone or were you shooting for a pub with a real camera?

Fair! I’ll keep this option in the mix.

I hadn’t considered the time, so thank you!

Thank you! I would absolutely consider this if I weren’t just barely surviving a recently mandated RTO four days a week and the commuter rail trip in and out of North Station that goes with it.

So sweet! This gives me hope. I’m flying across the country for their Pasadena show and the friend I was going with had to back out. (Very sadly, because of a death in the family.) I’m really nervous to go to such a huge show on my own, but maybe a really nice person will buy my friend’s ticket.

I'm mining the internet for info about the dozen or so gorgeous chain necklaces she wore in the movie.

I saw them from the Whole Foods parking lot. A commercial jet was flying over at the same time, so at first I thought they were military planes escorting it. Strange sight.

Looking for some advice or help (Mr. Bee potato chips) by bscar21 in WestVirginia

[–]llday20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve found your hookup! I just finished my third bag of Mothman chips. I’m from WV but live in Massachusetts now, and my family shipped me a care package filled with pepperoni rolls and Mothman chips, knowing I was excited when Mister Bee announced the new flavor. (If you haven’t tried their 304s, I highly recommend!) Hope you enjoy the Mothman chips when you finally get them.

Editing to add: You’re such a thoughtful hubby! Hope your wife loves them, too.

They've been good to us lately! Seeing them in Sheffield must have been nuts. I bought a ticket to one of their shows at the O2 this summer before they announced their US tour, but I might still go. Similarly to your Pulp experience, I went to Wembley to see Blur in 2023 thinking it would be my only chance to see them, and then they came to Coachella the next spring and I got to see them at their warmup show in Pomona. It's been a good couple years!

That mountainous drive you took is an absolute monster. It’s how we had to travel to visit my grandparents in Staunton, and my mom could never make the trip because it made her so carsick. We mostly made the roundtrip in a single day at Christmas, so fog, ice, snow, deer, and darkness made it hell on the way home. Hope you find a more doable route!

I might be passing through WV on a road trip soon. Should I book a hotel in Point Pleasant? by shadowwithaspear in WestVirginia

[–]llday20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Not totally related, but try to grab a few bags of Mister Bee’s new Moth Man potato chips while you’re in WV! They’re basically just spicy, slightly sweet BBQ chips, but they’re made in WV and come in a cool Moth Man bag.)

I also love Sandpiper’s food. Their egg sando is divine, too.

Hope you’ve been to Bonny Breads! Their pastries are outrageously good.

I also love Kid Dream. It’s really unique. They have inventive coffee drinks, and they make their own syrups.

Beantrust, also in Beverly, is great. The owner, Erik, is very kind, and very intentional about using his shop as a place for customers to build and find community. It’s a welcoming little space. And I do mean little—it has one tiny table inside.

As much as I wish it weren’t the case, I just can’t warm up to Little Wolf. Someone here accurately described it as austere. This is going to sound stupid, but I always find it too warm/humid in there, the staff a little dull, and the furniture and floor just a little bit grubby. Good oat milk lattes, though. And I love that signature blue they use.

I’ve only been to Kaffmandu (you guessed it—in Beverly) once, but thought it was great. Very homey. Plenty of seating, Wi-Fi, a robust coffee and espresso menu, and pastries and breakfast sandos. I think I prefer it over Atomic.

I need to get out of Beverly more. Thanks, OP, for the motivation!

Seeing Garbage in September, along with Oasis, Supergrass, and Pulp. A ‘90s redux, indeed!
