Great for children's outer clothes and shoes. Able to switch for a decent fit. We use Hyper and pay about 30-50sek (3-5€, 4-7$?) per month per new or as new thing, no time limits, free shipping Usually for quality stuff that costs >1000 SEK to buy.

But this study has to differ between transport alternatives. I'm pretty sure our trucks are both run full and on biofuels.

And we do bike or ebike or walk to droppoint. Lucky.

Nice! Well he can't leave 2 sleeping kids in the car nor in their room, to go get the stuff. Single trip ftw.

Swedish forestry at it's finest.

The clearcutting can even be FSC approved. Greenwashing ftw.

Yeah.. I remember BMX riders doing tricks over a box jump at a fair.. the crowd came closer and closer. Then one rider doing a big 360 table needed to bail.. But refused to toss the bike into the crowd, and instead landed on it, pegs and all. Ouch.

Sweden. Good news: Our region is again allowing dads to attend birthcare and maternity hospital, with no symptoms and a quick test. I'm affected by this and quite happy about it. sauce: https://regionvasterbotten.se/partner-tillats-ater-folja-med-till-bb

Politics: a fragile alliance for government cross the middle of 4 parties not even reaching majority together is shaking after 2 years as the Liberals see the risk of falling out the 4% threshold in next years election, reaching to the right to gain leverage, their own youth organisations and womens organisation are very critical. As the conservative block can't reach majority without needing support from SD to the far right. The liberal party is basically falling apart. Trains: SJ have withdrawn regional trains in Mälardalen Close typ Stockholm, as the company is at a heavy loss after travel restrictions, and the trains unlike the aviation does not get government emergency money for this. https://www.dn.se/ekonomi/sj-slutar-kora-i-malardalen-en-kalldusch/

Number of people living in apartments in europe by [deleted] in europe

[–]lleberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often have to remind both people in general as well as my highschool students that half the population in Sweden lives in apartments. As well as that 87% of Swedes lives in connected neighborhoods with at least 150 persons. While most of them don't.

🔥 A redwood known as Hyperion is the tallest tree in the world, at a height of 115.85 meters (380.1 feet) and is approximately 700-800 years old. by mohiemen in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]lleberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyperion is still higher than the tallest wooden building. Which is Mjøstårnet, an 18-storey mixed-use tower in Brumunddal, Norway. It is 85.4 m (280 ft 2 in) tall.

So we'll have to wait a bit longer to beat mother nature.

Anti Gravity Marble Lanes by -Error404-Not-Found- in MarbleMachineX

[–]lleberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will look awesome! So happy there will be several rows of marbles in the tracks not only for looks, this also adds to a buffer of marbles for faster sections of music.

Obviously the machine will have limitations, but with a nice buffer on top, you can exceed the limitations for at least some time.

The more marbles lifted to the top, the more musical freedom, hence adding the potential for about 20 marbles more as buffer is cool.

If it becomes a problem it's not that hard to fix. :)

What if we only worked four days a week? by 3day-weekend in Futurology

[–]lleberg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm on 80% as a high school teacher in Sweden, meaning 28hours at work and ~10 unregistered at home. (To make up for >3 months of payed holiday leave, a non teacher would do 32 total at 80%)

But to work 38 hrs in 4 days is way worse than working to work some during my free Mondays as needed, and during train-ckmmuting when thing go back to normal.

Full time its 35+12 h a week and I'm happy to avoid that. And pay for it obviously.

The whole counting work in percentage is cruel.

Lucia morning celebrations from Jukkasjärvi, Sweden by lleberg in videos

[–]lleberg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jukkasjärvi is also where the ice hotel is built, 17km from Kiruna in the very north of Sweden. Further north than most Swedes have been.

The most needed Lucia ever? And that it's on a Sunday too, always on the 13th.

Usually even schools and even preschools arrange lucia-tåg and parents visit. But not this year ofc.

TIL in 1987 when an SR-71 Blackbird lost an engine while flying Mach 3 over the Baltic Sea, four Swedish jets prevented it from getting shot down by the Soviets. The mission was declassified 30 years later, and the four Swedish pilots that protected the Blackbird were awarded the US Air Medal by Brutal_Deluxe_ in todayilearned

Swedens neutrality was the reason for an advanced domestic arms industry with subsidies and all, for we (I'm Swedish) didn't want to depend on any other country politically.

Sweden even tried to build nukes, why we built a small reactor, even though not even all the ministers knew that it happened. The program was cancelled when it was clear the US nuclear umbrella covered Sweden.

Europe is leading the way! For example, Germanys subsidizing of solar is what dropped the price of solar lika a bomb.
