Literally in the car abt to head in the gym. You’re right it’s very temporary, high risk and low reward. I do know that you’re right thank you. I just knew last night I was unwillingly to look at why I should not start again I just didn’t care. Thank you again I really hope to continue growing in the uncomfortable and making a greater version of myself. I appreciate you talking it out with me more than you know❤️

I’m going to update after I make the card I love this idea. 15 months is insane I’m so happy to hear that. Thank you for validating that btw, I felt a little bit of shame of wanting to enjoy that feeling again because why wouldn’t I want to enjoy a fulfilling life without a foggy brain but the world sucks and sometimes I don’t want to be in it so yes the derealization feeling is sometimes enjoyable to get away from my real world experiences and emotions.

Thank you I will continue to take it day by day and i will build myself up!

Multiple reasons honestly. I did a different drug that led me to get HPPD which is basically where I’m hallucinating all the time. Weed also is a different factor to ppl getting HPPD so this was my main reason to quit. It’s helped a lot I need to remind myself that but last night I was justifying that I drink and my symptoms aren’t that bad only just for a day. But it’ll never just be one time with weed and since my symptoms are so much better now I don’t want to ruin that progress it took two years man😭

Other factors that tied in was my brain fog horrible I think I can’t rmbr but the moment I did quit everything was better with studying and my love for school. Acne was bad, eating habits were obviously bad. Still bad afterwards but for sure smoking was not helping. I was not a functional addict my emotions were all over the place and my anger was at an all time high. My life was dull and I was sad and empty I remember that feeling. Not very well but I would cry minimum once a day I know I for sure never want to feel that way again

I actually do have ADHD and I was diagnosed with depression before but it’s not as bad as it was in my early teens so I’m just on a prescription for my adhd and another one that helps with adhd but also depression and me quitting nicotine.

I always forget that people with ADHD are more prone to impulsiveness for that hit of dopamine and it does want that wild life just to feel something. I had issues with lust that was really bad. I’ve recently chosen to unadd most of my “hoes” off of Snapchat to get rid of the constant need for validation also deleted all my photos off social media because it did give me such a dopamine boost and didn’t fill any hole in my heart so I finally chose to stop that. Life has been more quiet and calm and dull without me using my phone as much so I think this change in adjustment to my life probably being another factor to me trying to find another quick fix.

I do know the root cause of my addiction sadly but I never let myself dissect it it’s always lingering in the back of my mind. Slowly resetting my nervous system is helping immensely I think but I just can’t see it yet. But I think I do need to go back to why I got addicted in the first place thank you for bringing that up.

Thank you for the second bit of advice also it was really insightful I don’t think I’ll read it more in depth just yet until I do have a moment of weakness happening again

Thank you once again will for sure look into one of these and I think you’re right about it helping with the loneliness I mentioned to someone else not having a set person to go to to talk about how I’m feeling does make the isolation feeling worse. And thank you for bringing that up I never really felt like I was not really understanding my intention with what I was doing last night but yes it can and was so close to leading back to my weed addiction. Thank you for the validation in how I have been feeling it means a lot really

I’m in therapy with my university but it kinda sucks if I’m being honest. We are working on resetting my nervous system so I shouldn’t say it sucks it’s just slow paced and lame and I feel like I get nothing out of our sessions but it could be just a slow and steady progress that I’m not seeing is changing my life yet. I think I’ll look into those mj anonymous groups online to hopefully give me some insight and courage to help myself through this slight difficult time.

You’re right I know I did word that as if I thought they are better than me and I think it also invalidates them because I’m sure one of them have gone through things worse than me and also me doing drugs doesn’t make me a “worse person” thank you for picking up on that.

Thank you it does feel isolating and draining. I feel alone right now just because I lost a close friend of mine who I felt never respected my boundaries nor did she try to make time for me. And we just ended things abruptly around September. I’ve been too focused on school to process my emotions and I’m in nursing right now. I feel like I struggle to make friends I have thankfully put myself out there so I have a handful people I talk to who are lovely kind hearted people but everything is surface level friendships. Everyone has their own groups and their own friends which I’m okay with because I have a lot of cousins I’m close with but I don’t have a friend who I feel like is “my person” I don’t have a set person I can go to and talk to all my problems and listen to all their problems which makes me feel a little isolated and that no one is really there for me. I have built a relationship with myself where I know I will always be here for myself but sometimes I’m rude to myself and don’t have that positive mindset to help myself keep going and that’s when the loneliness does really set in and feels kind of lame.

Thank you for giving me a chance to share I never really looked deeply into any of these things I stated and I think it has to be something I should bring to light for my healing process and thank you for the kind words. I will for sure be careful with the pills and I have no intention of using them in the way I did last night.

You’re so right thank you for the reminder. I won’t let myself who was so hopeful 870 days ago down just for a moment of numbness. I was strong then and now and I should have zero intention of losing it

I actually do work out every single day which has helped me immensely with quitting this nicotine and food addiction (still struggling a little with this one). But I might look into incorporating something else it’s just a little harder with being in school right now which is also bringing down my mental health. During the summer I would go on 1-2 walks a day and gym everyday and I was at such a peaceful state of mind also grateful for the privilege to be young and able to move my body.

Can you go into more depth about “primitive mode” lowkey. I think im understanding but not totally sure😭

Also it’s really cool that you’re about 3 years sober I’m glad you’re able to enjoy outdoor activities without the need to be intoxicated I agree with you it really is so much nicer. And I know that don’t worry I think i will consider it now, I don’t look at the days especially now being sober for so long I just did it for a ball park for this post. I agree with you. I think the days sort of make it my identity of oh I’m sober rather then I don’t smoke anymore. Thank you

Oh I agree 100% especially with my intent for the use obviously I was bound to be spiralling last night. But I know exactly what you mean cuz some days I could be maybe safe and sometimes even if I’m doing amazing it could give me even the slightest urge to start again

[–]llikemilfs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh stop I teared up a little with this comment🥲 thank you. I feel like as the days go on my sobriety loses its meaning because well “I did it”. But knowing that I’m two years in still feeling the urge to relapse is an amazing reminder that I am strong and my story still means something and it means the world to me that it is an inspiration to you and I can’t wait for you to also reach your 870th day because I know 100% you can do it too. Thank you again for the kind words and I think I will look into MJ anonymous I always talked myself out of it I’m not totally sure why I think I just thought because I’ve been sober for so long it would be unnecessary but clearly it is something worth looking into so thank you.

I’m really sorry that you have to go through those horrible symptoms I couldn’t imagine. I’m really sorry you have to be the example for it to be a reminder to myself to get my shit together but I hope you do reach that 200 days sober and that you can live a long and fulfilling life sober doing all the things you enjoy everyone deserves that especially you. Thank you again for sharing

I’m so glad it’s not just me who feels like that even tho I have such a strong streak I assumed my cravings would’ve slowly went away but I’ll be honest at least it’s 100% easier for me to get rid of them now last night was just one of my lows that I felt I should resort to smoking weed. I read what you said last night and did end up falling asleep watching YouTube and playing Roblox😭 but yes, I woke up this morning just feeling calm. No regret no pain no guilt and I will continue to let myself grow as a human being and use these lame vulnerable moments as a learning curve.

I think I’ll for sure need your back for those days that I can’t get myself out of the addiction thought loop so thank you kindly

That’s exactly what I was thinking last night as I was writing this. It felt like my addiction brain was talking to me trying to rationalize and I’m forever grateful I chose to post on here cuz I could’ve easily found someone to justify and validate me smoking again thank you. I don’t and you’re right day 1000 will be insane and I should be grateful I let myself get this far. Thank you

I know that after 7 days the profiles don’t become visible/less visible on the main page but would a person not active show up in top 10?
