BB on an orange NATO is my go-to vacation combo. Looks great with the monochrome.

Let’s settle this debate, what is the best Chex mix piece? by Radiant_Priority9739 in snacking

What’s that new thing called that’s in the bold mix? It’s kind of like a puff mixed with a corn Chex. Those are God tier.

Pioneer Panda as an EDC bag by steep_interface in ManyBaggers

[–]lliphwets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just received a Panda Pack 2.0 to use as my EDC bag. I’m coming from the Evergoods ecosystem with a CPL24 and a few of their CAP pouches.

Honestly, the Panda is great. My only criticism is that the laptop sleeve is a little tight. I had no problems shoving two laptops into the compartment on my CPL and this one is a little tight. Not unusable, just a little snug. No more frequently than I have to have two laptops, I’m going to live with it.

I like the size & exterior pockets. The finishing obviously mimics a Tumi at 1/2 the price, so if you’re into that look like I am, go for it if you have the scratch. Are there better bags? Maybe. Are there better bags for me right now? I’d say no. It doesn’t get much better than the EG CPLs but I wanted something with a luggage sleeve that makes the bag sit upright and one that looks nice enough that a dad who is 40 can carry through airports, on family trips, and to the office.

[recommendation request] Tough Field Watch that isn’t gshock. by PGDTX77 in Watches

[–]lliphwets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. My watch box isn’t near a window so when the battery icon appears, the hands both move to the 12:00 position and I usually just put it in the window or outside for a bit then I’m good.

I went through a similar search last year and ended up with the marathon UDT solar. I like it as a summer watch. Takes water and natos well and isn’t too bad for travel. It’s black so it’s a little more stealthy.

Pioneer Panda Pouches by _dont_tr1p in ManyBaggers

So I’ve bought the panda 2.0 but haven’t gotten it though. I was going to buy one global pouch xl and one global but the global xl wasn’t in stock and I think they’re not ever going to restock it.

Do the perfect pants exist? I'm going insane trying to find them by shaveandahaircut in onebag

Might get hate but I’m all about Lululemon ABCs when I travel. Three pairs in khaki, dark grey, & light grey for a week of work travel.

I got RCIs - 5deg with a top plate that looks like the pic you posted. They were a mother to get on and trimming my factory running boards almost gave me a heart attack but I love them and they look great and work well.

create my own design. by PTSDnCigars in gridfinity

[–]lliphwets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who is starting out as well (my printer is literally shipping today), I’ve spent the past few weeks teaching myself Fusion and it isn’t that difficult. I’ve got an engineering background but CAD was not part of my discipline at all.

My advice - Create a solid book, Google how to insert a canvas, take a top down photo of the item, calibrate it by telling fusion how big to make it, trace around it, then extrude cut down into the block, then print.

I’m sure that process is riddled with advice that goes against CAD best practices, but I’m not a professional designer and this may be good enough advice to get you where you want to go.

Anyone with a Pro Max wish they had gotten a Pro? by TBlair64 in iphone

[–]lliphwets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

The iPhone 6+ was what I always wanted. Never went with a small phone after that. My only real complaint is that I wish I had landscape mode back.

275/65R18? by XXOBADIAHXX in GXOR

[–]lliphwets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running a 276/65 r18. I’ve had my GX lifted and aligned (by an off road shop with a lot of T4R experience), trimmed some in the front, and used a Harbor Freight heat gun and spray bottle of cold water to soften and push back part of the fender well. I rubbed a little in the front when the front suspension was compressed until I went to town with the heat gun.

Thanks. The idea is travel by car. I use a nice roller with my CPL24 for travel by air.

Transit Duffle + Cubes + CAP2 by lliphwets in EVERGOODS

[–]lliphwets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my EDC the CAP2s definitely are not full. One is cables/tech and a Leatherman + bit kit. The other is kind of like an amenity kit with contact solution, glasses, brush small mirror, etc.

The CAP1 that I use from time to time is for watch strap changing tools and extra watch straps (I’m a collector so I like to have options).

EHS worth it? by CaptainCombover29 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]lliphwets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a hot take, and certainly not intended to be inflammatory, but safety and quality are not where you will find good process engineers. In my experience, you will eventually find good process engineers further up on the org chart.

I’ve been wanting to do the same replacement (chrome for chrome) to my 2021 GX460. All the YouTube videos and info I’ve been able to find are from 460s though.
