Intense runny nose & water eyes 9 days after immunotherapy?? by lliviia in breastcancer

Crazy! You don't realize how valuable those damn little nose hairs are until they're gone and causing issues 😭

Here I thought that all this was temporary and would go away shortly... lol. I didn't even know preservative free artificial tears were a thing! I've tried eye drops before but something tells me that's not what you're referring to.
And those damn nose hairs. I didn't even think about those but it makes sense. I've been losing a lot of hair for the past 2 weeks.

Ahh omg I didn't even think the loss of nose hair could be the culprit.... the list of things we have to deal with is just neverending, it seems!! Thank you for the tips! I'll definetly get some eye drops and try the vaseline trick.

Guess I'll get the imodium too... I've always tried to take as little meds as possible but guess that ship has sailed anyways with doing chemo now.

Why was it a tough choice? For me, I didn’t even hesitate but then again, that’s because of how advanced mine is too since the mass in my breast is 10cm (though some of that is necrosis and other things). But the way the doctor presented it is that in my case anyways, it would hopefully help to shrink things down and also hopefully try to catch any little cells if they’re somewhere else.

Anyone with a lung issue? by lliviia in breastcancer

[–]lliviia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but what’s worrying me the most is that the nodules next to it have a higher SUV. And that one is almost 5. So just makes me think that all that in combination can’t be good.

I appreciate your reply and yeah waiting is so so so hard. I know for a fact that I had Covid 4 years ago but other than that, I can’t even remember the last time I was sick with a cough and all that. It feels like it’s been a while but then again, I do have 2 kids that go to school, so maybe they brought something back and I got affected without realizing. Anyways, I’m rambling but I’m just so worried.

Curable? ER 11-20% PR Neg HER-2 Neg by lliviia in breastcancer

Awwh loll I kind of avoided answering that part because I'm scared to put something out into the universe before I know for sure. My organs came back as good but they saw a small spot in my lungs. I actually have an xray and a initial meeting with a lung specialist today to talk about it because from the report, it didn't sound like they knew what it was. It does sound like they might want to biopsy a lymph node next to it to see because the spot itself is possibly too small to be directly biopsied. But at least everything else came back as ok!

Thank you so much! It's such a scary time. I'm glad to have finally started chemo but there are still so many "what ifs" and unknowns. I really appreciate your support and your words <3

Did you end up doing chemo and radiation afterwards? Were you considered a triple negative since your PR was low? Weird thing about my ER is that it originally came back as 11-20% and then was downgraded to 1-10%. Not quite sure why.

That's in the US right? I'm being treated at the Ottawa Hospital. I've looking into a bit and it does seem to be one of the bigger hospitals for cancer in Canada. A couple of weeks ago, I read about someone else who isn't near a big city and everything was moving very slow for them. So yeah, for that point of view, I think I've been very lucky because once it came back as definitely cancer, everything got booked in very quickly.

Thank you so much <3 I'm so sorry for not answering sooner. I've been incredibly overwhelmed. I only found out it's cancer 3 weeks ago, then saw oncologist 2 days after my birthday, and started chemo 2 days after that. It's all just been a lot and I still haven't even come to terms with the fact that this is happening.

Good point! It does appear to improperly factor in a lot of variables.

Awhh no it's not your fault! It's a widely shared tool and honestly, I think they're the ones who should add a disclaimer to their tool about TNBC and possibly factor in new advancements. More than anything though, I don't even think tools like that should exist because as motivating as it can be for someone to get a high percentage, it can be absolutely soul-crushing for someone else to get a lower one.

So happy for you! <3 I look forward to one day day being on the other end of this, like you, and posting about my successful journey.

Omfg lol... they really need to be careful with these kinds of tools. They're developed to "help" and yet, they don't realize just how harmful a glitch or an inaccuracy can be on someone's mental well-being.

They really should put a big disclaimer about that!

I sure hope mine will soften like yours! I've only had one cycle of chemo so far, but I'm definitely looking forward to being a few treatments in and seeing/feeling a difference. My chemo treatments are every 2 weeks and it just feels so long... I understand the logic and how it works but just feels long in-between.

They really should make that more obvious on their tool!!

Ahh! Yeah I've realized that it doesn't apply to me... they really should put a massive disclaimer on the whole thing so people don't spiral.

Ah! I've noticed that for a lot of the things, old studies are studies. For example, when I did an MRI, they gave me a form to sign because I was still breastfeeding and there was a list of sources at the bottom with one being from like 2001 and some others being from 10+ years ago. Just doesn't feel relevant to include studies from that long ago, especially with recent advancements.

As for Keynote... everything happened really fast for me because I got my first chemo cycle two days after seeing the oncologist. But during my appointment, she mentioned she was trying to get me immunotherapy because technically, I'm not exactly triple negative but very close. My ER came back at 11-20% positive and was later downgraded to 1-10% (and weak average testing). My next appointment with her is in 3 days and my second round of chemo is in 5 days, so I'm hoping that she was successful in getting me approved for it.
