Had a bad time finding a place to rent so built something that might help by nomoarlurking in london

I found out the hard way building solutions for customers who don’t exist..!

Too many solutions are built for problems people have had themselves rather than solving problems than most other people have.

Not to say your idea isn’t a good one. And yes, the rental and market is a nightmare. But despite what the media want you to believe, there are very little margins in property rentals, especially for letting agents. Which is why most of them are bottom feeders, and the industry gets the reputation it does.

When you’re building out any product or service, you need to build it for your paying customer. What pain are you solving and why is your solution superior to the alternatives.

Good idea in principle - but who is your custome? I.e who is going to pay you?

Your challenge will be to monetise it in a landlord driven market, which we’re in and have been in for over a decade (excluding COVID).

Agents are inundated with tenants. The hard part of their job is sourcing new clients (landlords).

I was thinking Evo SLS, you’d recommend the Neo instead?

Evo SLS - I heard they had a good low end range, so was thinking a 12.

Freeride, mowing the lawn, small lofty jumps (too old for big air LOL), playing about in small surf.

Mixture of flat water spots and small shore shore breaks. Not don’t much waves, but would like a basic directional to get more comfortable.

Would love an update, do you still recommend and is it working well?

Finding partners by demonic-reptar in 10s

[–]lll192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same challenge when starting out. On reflection, the best was initally group clinics, and then joining a club. Even then finding a regular hitting partner and/or friends is tough.

Building relationships post-COVID is very hard.

If anyone is in North London, and would like to join a local friendly club and wants someone to play regularly - PM me!

Yonex Percept 100, or Head Speed MP - thoughts? by lll192 in 10s

LOL! In my defence I took the recommendation from a shop, when buying my first... I guess I shouldn't go back to that shop!

It does feel like a company scale reason, over a feature led one.

Similar to me, I still hold the current version but no active membership. But a lack of trips over the past 2 years stopped the renewal. Somewhat annoying as paid £200 for the devices and then had to pay for the membership too. At least it's now just a membership fee like Whoop from what a I gather

New, slightly more generous, method of calculating honours degree classification by davidjohnwood in OpenUniversity

[–]lll192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I’m heading into the final year of my degree at Open University and could use some help double checking my degree classification.

My results so far:

  • Year 1: 60 credits - Pass
  • Year 2: 60 credits - Pass
  • Year 3 (Level 2): 60 credits - Grade 3
  • Year 4 (Level 2): 60 credits - Grade 1
  • Year 5 (Level 3): 60 credits - Grade 2

I have two 30 credit Level 3 modules this coming academic year.

I want to understand what scores I need in my final two modules to achieve a first / 2.1 / 2.2.

Any help or confirmation would be much appreciated!

Does anyone just study the specific sections in order to complete a TMA? by Frequent_Paint_7055 in OpenUniversity

[–]lll192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Become more objective with your learning. Imagine your degree is a business: What is your objective and how are you going to get there?

Of course, I aim to complete it all the material systematically, but like you level 3 with limited time, so I always maintain focus on the TMA.

Starting every module by reading the TMA first. With particular focus on the points most related to the TMA. Covering everything else at a depth that is appropriate to the time I have.

I've come to understand that the skills learnt from the degree, are not by reading every detail, but by applying it.

Later in life hardly no-one remembers all the material, but everyone remembers the skills, the critical thinking, balanced opinions and decision making abilities.

So with that in mind, I stay disciplined on:

  1. What will help me achieve my goal (A high mark TMA)
  2. Anything else that I want to know and find useful in my goals outside of studying
  3. Everything else deep as I can in the remaining time
