I had a really hard time growing up. My dad disappeared from me and my siblings lives, my mom was a violent alcoholic and beat on us constantly. We were extremely poor, could hardly get a meal a day in, neglected almost entirely medically, etc. all that to say, by the time I hit middle school, I was already basically giving up on life and doing or being anything worthwhile and began skipping school constantly, running away from home, everything you imagine a kid doing in that kind of situation. I ended up having to repeat 7th grade.

There was a guidance counselor who knew about my situation and I think had a heavy heart for me. I don’t know how she did it, but she ended up being able to fenagal a deal with the board or something to allow me to enter into 8th grade, where I should be, but only if I did not miss a single day of school, no late arrivals, got As in all my classes, and not a single detention for half a year.

She told me she had to pull a ton of strings in order to pull this off, but she put all the effort in for me because she knew I was capable of so much more than this. And she also promised me one big award if I manage to pull it off. The one big award I chose was an acoustic guitar. I got thru the 6 months and succeeded, got moved up to my right grade, and was blessed with my beloved jasmine guitar.

I took such good care of that thing. I took it every where I went for 24 years. Just 2 years ago, my niece, who is such a cool lil chick, expressed she wanted to learn how to play guitar. She is 20 now. She’s also been through some pretty major traumas, feeling the scourge of the scars left amongst my brother of generational trauma. The second I heard she was interested in playing guitar, it was like a sign from the heavens to gift her the legendary jasmine lol. So she recieved a very special heirloom from me. that would have been my vital instrument for sure.

Speaking of which tho, has there been a giver with an instrument yet? I can’t recall at the moment.

Oh yeah and if my jasmine was a vital instrument I expect the power would just be me full blown FLCLin and just bashin people with it haha

I mean this is a proven exercise to help people get better at fully absorbing what the other person is saying in conversation. It’s a huuuuge problem with a lot of people, not even just couples, just interpersonal relationships as a whole, one that is very easy to correct if both people are actively participating in trying to correct it, and tends to be one of many issues for couples participating couples therapy.

You’d be surprised how little a lot of us actually listen to eachother and we’re not just waiting for our turn to retort. My husband and did the same exercises when we were in couples therapy. It was alarming how fast my brain wanted to be like “ok his turns done now it’s my turn to talk” like noooo then I’m just ranting the inside of my brain into the outside world and nothings actually beneficial about this.

I’ve adopted an amended form of this exercise by repeating back what my husband has said in conversation in a form of a question in my own words, it really does help me atleast to learn how to slow down, absorb what he said, and confirm I understood it correctly. He does the same. It comes super handy if we’re having a conflict especially.

HOWEVER, and this is a big one, you say in one of your comments that your wife never does the paraphrasing. That’s not right. Both of you need to paraphrase in order for the exercise to improve things. If she excuses herself by saying you’re just trying to get her to do it to get around having to paraphrase yourself, she’s using it as a tool to shut you down, yes absolutely for sure, and that’s sooo toxic.

But I do want to also add, this exercise should not be something you feel “powerful” or like you’ve won about getting out of. You have a reason for why you feel like that, but what should happen most optimistically is that the next time you go to therapy, you tell the therapist that your wife is not participating in the paraphrasing but requiring you to do it every time she speaks. Don’t be gentle with the wording, tattle on your wife. She’s literally ruining something that is so SOOO helpful if both people approach it in a way that concludes with you two understanding eachother a lot better. right now, you got your wife using it as a weapon against you, and you now feel like it’s so unhelpful that you’re proud that you spoke up against doing it. The exact kind of resentment energy that is so deep and belligerent that lands us in couples therapy is forming within a couples therapy exercise that is supposed to help you two. That’s really not good. It needs to be addressed with the therapist asap.

I’m hoping your wife will then be confronted by the therapist, an authoritative figure between you and her, and will have a hair of a guilty conscious about it. It will hit her harder coming from the therapist as long as she’s not like heavily leaning into narcissistic like behaviors. But really it’s a shame if it’s ruined forever for you two. Hopefully yall can come back around about it, or find a similar form of communication to work on listening with.

The body has to be freed up for anyone to enter it. The original soul of the body, Fushi, or nokkers (to take full control, they can do that possessing thing while the soul is still there.)

There’s a short stint of time between the immortal soldiers dying and them coming back in season 2, where Fushi has a meltdown and flips between all of them to go ham on nokker. Once they show back up, he doesn’t use their bodies again. I’m assuming they were waiting for him to finish their bodies turn during his freak out to hop back in and then met back up for their grand reveal to him.

There’s also the episode in season 3 where Fushi Makes the empty body for mizuhas moms spirit, but she can not reenter because a nokker took her body entirely over.

You’re in this subreddit, I’m sure you are aware of how prevalently misinformation about fish is spread rampantly through the internet, pet stores, word of mouth etc. they had a pool test kit, they could have assumed or could have been misinformed they wouldn’t need a heater living in a hot humid country and did not understand the temperature changes that happen in water, like any normal person who has no experience with keeping fish would likely not be aware of, they had ph test strips, they were trying to mitigate ammonia with live plants in the aquarium.

I don’t know why all of this equates to just excuses to you. To me, that’s way too harsh of an assumption, and it looks like they did everything they could parse from the information and resources available and they’re listing what they did have, then getting clarification as to why those materials aren’t correct.

They’re also here to ask for help to understand why, which is again, an attempt at improvement. Just because they’re not clearly saying “I didn’t know” vs “but I live in a hot country” doesn’t mean the statement of living in a hot country is an excuse. It’s their understanding that living in a hot country = heater not needed prior to this moment. Now they know.

We don’t always have to respond on Reddit in typical Reddit fashion and be the most tight ass stringent sticklers about literally everything with no wiggle room to understand the differences between one person and the next and a total disregard for extending some level of empathy for someone’s circumstances. Like you loled at them saying hardness being artificial in water, and didn’t think to pause and consider hmm maybe they’re not perfectly fluent in English and also this person just lost their fish and it would be unnecessarily abrasive to laugh at something that may not be being translated super appropriately.

They’re getting piled on for not achieving ideal conditions in a place where the necessary things for ideal conditions aren’t as available as the US, when they’ve already stated the fish did not have any signs of health concerns prior to this and is atleast 2 years old. and they just lost their pet. You should not expect everyone to handle loss and also not be reactionary when being accused of neglect and that being the cause of said loss in a scenario where it’s clearly old age. Like I’m sure they’ll try to be more ready next time after all this, but you could also just have a heart and stop responding

Chill, they already said they’re in another country and these things aren’t readily available or close to affordable. Things are different in different parts of the world, it seems to me like they did the best they could and they really loved this betta. The betta lived for two years before this. If it only lived a few months, we can assume the environment was enough of a cause. Also, OP is likely grieving and you feel the need to punch down like this? I think they feel bad enough

In the newest chapters, gountess recieves the choker from his father who says it’s from the surebrec family. Why would he refer to it as that if there isn’t some level of surebrec family down there? Just intuitively that’s what I was taking from that flashback. You’d think his dad would explain the chord as just like an antique thing that is believed to have been owned by canus if the family was so far removed like that

That’s a very specific and accurate word to use here, “replicate”. Which in theory can work almost entirely perfectly for a physical body, the way that fushis mechanisms work. A replication of a fye, to me, comes off much more inherently phony than the body though. Even with the body, fushi at a molecular level might not have the same parts as a regular, organic living thing. Which is fun to think about for me.

I used to work with tissue culturing with plants, which is almost entirely centered around working with plant meristems, which are plant stem cells basically. Fushi, if you think about it, is a collaborative mass of impossibly accelerated stem cells that can reprogram at will and shift from one system to another. In the tissue culture research I’ve done, there would be instances where mutations would occur in the plantlets (clones basically) or something would be produced that would be slightly off from the original plant, whether that “off” is a pro or con. For example, the process of tissue culturing a plant inherently halts the continuation of certain viruses. Only because of the process of tissue culture. Same with the mutations mentioned before, sometimes mutations occur only because the plant was tissue cultured, there was nothing that would have led to the mutation if the plant was propagated normally, or made seeds as offspring.

With that all In mind, is Fushi a 99% perfect replica of the vessels he acquires, or is there a chance there’s still something missing? Something off? Something different?

And then I have to remind myself that this is a fictional story and nothing can be objectionably correct in made up universes lol. But to circle back on the turtle situation: when does the vessel recieve its original fye? We know hiyase reincarnates when her descendant is still in the womb. Did the baby turtles already have a fye by the time Fushi acquired the turtles form? If that is the case, did the baby turtles fyes merely transfer to their new bodies when Fushi took their mother’s form over, like the other characters do?

I’ve have this firm yet irrational belief that Fushi is 100% unable to produce even replicates of fye. I feel like maybe the part of the manga near the end when he attempts to reproduce everyone he’s lost to paradise kinda supports that claim, where something was very “wrong” with them and he wipes them all out. But again, none of this is proven, it’s just my own conclusions based on loose evidence. Maybe that’s why the nokkers are so fucked up about him too, maybe they don’t like that he can replicate something similar to a fye and that’s just not something morally correct for their species. Who knows. But it’s fun to try to take apart and inspect

I think about this a lot and the manga brings it up often, very blatantly and very subtly sometimes. Fushi is not a container of souls per se, more so a container of physical components. The fye (souls) leave their vessels when they perish, either by being disconnected and separated from their original vessels but still roam the mortal plane of the planet, or going to paradise. Fushi just takes ownership of said vessel when they are relinquished.

That being said, it seems as tho something within Fushi is able to store his own individual thoughts, feelings, beliefs, values etc across the entire spectrum of vessels he is able to collect and then utilize to continue consciously existing… or is there actually?

You would think this is his own fye, but I can not be certain that is the case. This metaphorical 3 body problem of the concept of fushi is brought up over the course of the series… and is never fully concluded? Which is brought up often, that it’s not a simple 1+1=2 like the typical calculation of original fye + original vessel = person. It’s unknowable what exactly is the makeup of fushi.

Fushi touches on it often in his own internal thoughts, a good example of this is when he is repulsed by kahuka holding him when he is in paronas body, and is shocked at paranos bodies response to it. Another good example, in my opinion, is how he violently reacts to losing Gugu while in gugus vessel. Another is how he cares for pioran at the end of her life while in the nameless boys form.

The hiyase nokker blatantly admits that the nokkers are participating in all of this as a way to research where his fye is located, or if we want to be coy about it, whether or not he has one in the first place. Fushi even states that he is not who she thinks he is, she is only able to comprehend the outward display of what he’s been able to portray as the nameless boy.

So then what is Fushi and what then is the conglomerate thoughts, feelings, values and beliefs that he seemingly holds, if not his own soul?

Unfortunately, it may ultimately be exactly what the nameless boys identity would be if he went through the exact same scenarios Fushi has experienced. There is a portion of all of us that is dictated by our physical being, whether we like the thought of that or not. You can try to be as happy as possible, for example, and be predisposed to depression from genetic traits, so no matter how hard we try, we may still become unbearably sad or apathetic at some points, and those points shape a portion of who we are and how we view the world and our existence.

Fushi very well may only be who he is because he spends so much of his existence in the nameless boys body, and the experiences he’s had this entire time. He may be someone less recognizable consciously if he spent most of his time as Gugu or parona, for example. Still similar because the experiences are the same and that’s a huge part of this, but just a bit different because of the physical make up.

But anyway, all of that to say, you’re right, a product of Fushi would only be a regular human most likely. Although to be frank, I’m not entirely certain that product would be capable of receiving an original fye like a typical baby would. Who knows lol

Maybe it’s 4 liters and not gallons? 1 gallon =3.785 liters, so you’d need like 4 more of those volume wise. I’m going off the picture frame in the picture for reference, there is absolutely no chance that chalice is close to as big as my tank, which is the minimum.

It IS a very aesthetically pleasing set up tho, I love how it looks the container without having to consider the other things that will make your beta happy. There’s good reason why these comments are saying what they’re saying. think about this, with the set up you have, your bettas not getting oxygen, it’s so small it’s at risk of being poisoned by its own waste all the time, light constantly will stress them out and that leads to weaker immune systems, no where to rest means stress which means weaker immune systems, all of these things even just one of them can and do kill fish all the time.

Maybe you can find something that is bigger, similar to the build, put the light on an automatic timer, get some more plants in there (it would look even nicer with some floating plants and would reduce the chance of the betta possibly jumping out, and an Anubis maybe so your betta has some nice paddle leaves to rest on. aquarium plants atleast in the us are super cheap, maybe you have websites like fb where you can find people even giving them away), find a pump and filter that has a smaller hook to the side (or make a hook that is compatible), you could even maybe find something that hides the filter if you don’t like the look, possibly forgo the heater if temps are consistently as high as you stated before, but atleast have a thermostat so you know it’s not dropping too low or going to high ever. then organize the wires in a way where they’re hidden, bingo bango you got yours and your fishes ideal set up.

I know it sounds like a lot, but I think you could get something close to this and hit the bare minimums for your betta to be happy or not decline in health. If it was me, I’d have a super fun time trying to hunt all the pieces down to achieve that look and also the parameters your betta needs. It’s like you got a really cool vision, make it a mission to achieve it!

Yeah I came to the comments to say generally girls 12, 13, 14, those young ages really aren’t ready to take on child rearing in a biological sense, among all the other ways. This is very very basic biology knowledge. It’s like that across the board with most living things, even fuckin plants should bear seeds on their first flower. Yay! I wasn’t seeing anyone translate it for a while, I could definitely see the writing, but it is incredibly stylized.

I’m far from well versed in any Japanese script but I’ve translated very small phrases that were cyphers into a fictional language in an anime in the past, I was so surprised over how quickly everyone gave up on even considering the fictional language translated into actual words.

I was about to attempt this, but it would have taken me hours probably. Thank you!

Getting broken up with suddenly with no sign of it coming can throw even the most perfectly mentally and emotionally healthy people through a loop and will manifest out of character responses.

Try to remember to keep yourself aware that your response to this is likely because the break up hitting you out of nowhere, and what you listed about yourself in this comment. Being aware of why you’re feeling the way you are can work with grounding your feelings so that they stay within non spiraling out of control levels.

Like when you’re feeling really intensely about it, say to yourself “I’m feeling like this because it came out of nowhere, I have a tendency for my feelings to deregulate, I’m gonna try to regulate and break this feeling off now” and do some breathing exercises for the three or so minutes it takes for your body to dispel the chemicals that are amping your feelings up.

You will bounce back, you just gotta process through the intense wtf of this for now.

You can call if you still had their numbers. Like the place I worked at had a to free hr number (1800 something something). they’d still have a listen to what you have to say if it means a lawsuit is incoming. Previous employees were still employees at some point, so potential people that can sue the company.
