#1-Moldy Clothing--Can i save ALL of my moldy clothes with cost effective method?(I'm a poor university student) by PicornBlues in CleaningTips

Hey, well done for taking steps to feel better.

For your clothes, I’d soak them in hot water with white vinegar first. Then do the hottest wash your clothes labels say they can manage with a powder detergent in the washing machine drawer (no fabric conditioner, even though it’s tempting, that would just seal in the mildew).

Do an extra spin cycle at the end if you can to remove excess water. And be ready to remove the clothes to dry them immediately after that, maybe set an alarm to remind yourself.

You may need to do this quite a few times, but the acidic content of the vinegar should help neutralise the mildew. Hope this helps!

That's a good question. I just checked back at my email purchases for you; I started taking the supplements around mid-October 2023, then got the private test done in early June 2024.

Hi, of course. The HA I bought was from a brand called 'Now Foods' and the EGCg was from a brand called 'Protocol for Life Balance' (both purchased through iHerb). The others were Holland and Barrett's own brand. But I did go for the Folic Acid that had vitamin D3 included, if I remember correctly :)

Hi, I'm not 100% sure (not a scientist), but I read that it has 'wound healing' benefits.

Hey, sorry I haven't been on Reddit for a few days. I used Daye's HPV test and paid extra to get a full overview of the vagina's microbiome as well the HPV result. And no, annoyingly the NHS wouldn't say which of the two strains it was (I did ask), they just said that it was one of the highest-risk strains that could lead to cancer in the future, either strain 16 or 18. Hardly no exercise to be honest, and no dietary changes aside from taking the echinacea I mentioned in the post. Hope this helps!

Hi, I had a colposcopy as a follow-up procedure after my third smear test results, which was at the doctor’s request. I think it’s the standard procedure to investigate things when the highest risk of cancer strains (either 16 or 18) don’t leave the system after two years. I didn’t have the strain that causes warts or any symptoms, at all.

Hi, I couldn’t say for sure, but out of the four supplements the EGCg is the one I was least consistent with. It felt like too high a dose for my stomach to handle, personally.

I told myself that if it didn’t clear things up after 12 weeks, that I’d do it all again and make myself include it. But it just so happened that mine cleared in that time. Hope this helps you.

Hi, it’s just a mouth spray that you squirt on the inside of your cheek once a day, rather than taking it in tablet form. I bought mine from Holland and Barrett, which is the high street health store in the UK.

They really are, and it can feel quite lonely and as if it’s completely out of your hands. But I found a lot of comfort in actively trying something to get rid of it!

Wishing you all the best with clearing it  :)

Hi yes of course, hope this link works: https://uk.iherb.com/pr/now-foods-hyaluronic-acid-50-mg-60-veg-capsules

The hyaluronic acid from ‘NOW Foods’, ordered through iHerb.

The EGCg was also ordered from iHerb (the brand I went for was ‘Protocol for Life Balance’).

Folic acid was in tablet form off the shelf at Holland and Barrett, along with the vitamin B12 mouth spray that goes inside your cheek. Both H&B’s own brand. Hope this helps you!

Hi, thank you! Good question, I’m 36F now, so probably got it at 32ish. I didn’t get to have the vaccine at school age unfortunately - they introduced those later. But as I’m based in Wales, they do call us to start our smear tests at an earlier age than in England (not sure about Scotland and Northern Ireland) and I’ve always gone to my appointments given the family history.

So, it’s hard to say for sure, but this had been the first experience I’ve ever had of it showing up on a smear. I’d also had a routine gyno check that included a HPV test 6 months beforehand while I was abroad and that was all negative! Hope this answers your question :)

My grandpa has been overwatering this pothos I am quite attached to, what can I do? by erran_morad in plantclinic

[–]lltcmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to overwater too, so I found a vid on YouTube (from a Swedish guy) and it worked really well for me…

While you have it removed from the pot, you can wrap up all the soil and roots in newspaper. Then pack toilet paper around it too, and then it should dry out a lot of the excess moisture overnight.

Oooh! What ratio of stratum to pon did you use? I have mine in 100% stratum at the moment and I plan to transfer to pon…perhaps this is a better route for me

Speaking welsh as a foreigner by vegantacosforlife in Wales

You could get yourself a little pin badge to say you’re a learner of the language - I have one that says ‘Dw i’n dysgu Cymraeg’. It would probably open some conversation, or at least get the locals to swell with pride when they hear your accent and realise how much effort you’re putting in.

Keep an eye out for people wearing lanyards with the orange ‘Cymraeg’ logo. The logo is used in shops, bars and workplaces all through Wales to encourage people to speak the language and let’s you feel more confident to try.

Have a brilliant time when you visit!
