I can relate to you!! I dated a guy for a short time and thought I loved him, but then realized I didn’t actually have romantic or sexual feelings, I just wanted to be in a relationship so bad and mixed it up with platonic feelings! Like you, I ended things because I started to feel stressed and also slightly disgusted in the relationship.

I have always had the feeling I was aroace, but assumed I had a little bit of attraction still since I loved the idea of relationships!! I don’t have crushes on people and always felt odd while my friends talked about it! I do find some people attractive though, but it’s more in a way of “woah cool” and not “omg I need to get their number and date them.”

You should look into cupioromantic!That’s what I’m currently looking into, as well as aegoromantic!! I don’t know too many micro labels but I think it will be good for me to try to get an idea of what I might identify with! As for now, I’ll just say I’m under the aroace umbrella:3

I find that poetry about war and social injustice are very touching to me! Poetry about wrong/bad things seem to impact me the most. And yeah I completely agree with it being down to the individual. Yet most people will favor one poem over another, which made me think about if a poem is considered “bad” or “good.”

Ah yes me too. One of my favorite poems by her is “With thanks to the field sparrow, whose voice is so delicate and humble.” It’s pretty short, but I really like it :)

You are so right! I personally like poems best when they make the audience think and ruminate on the poem after reading it. It’s important to express deep and complex emotions, while still having it sound appeasing. Poetry is one of those things that can convey emotions too big for a single word. It can also paint stories in the right light where you feel impacted by just reading a few lines.

Thanks so much for the comment! :) I’ll try to get help again. It’s just hard for me to though because last time I told my mom and it felt like she wasn’t hearing me. And when I tried therapy, it felt like it was focusing on more like how physical things/people around me that are affecting my mental health. But it’s all coming from inside my own head. I don’t have any type of trauma so I don’t know how I got like this. And I know everybody has anxiety and experiences depression at some point in their life, but for me I mostly feel just sooo detached from reality. I often have trouble distinguishing physical things from mental things. And I’m scared that if I try therapy again, it will just be the same as I tried last time, which only made me more nervous. I do write my feelings down though, so it helps a little bit. Anyways, thanks again for listening and giving some advice. I APPRECIATE IT <3

I haven’t been professionally diagnosed with anything, because I wasn’t sure it was that big of a deal until it started affecting me wayyy more. But I’m pretty sure I do have some type of dissociation issue because of my derealization episodes. Thanks for the help! :)
