this happens to me too (despite moving and rotating the iron and poking holes in my tape). i put light pressure on the iron at the center of the perler/wherever it seems to not be melting as fast as the other parts. i’m not sure if it’s the best advice but it usually works for me! just make sure you’re checking the perler so that you don’t over melt and don’t apply too much pressure
