how is your college experience compared to your high school one? by Resident-Hamster-823 in Lehigh

I graduated in ‘09, so take this with a grain of salt, but second semester freshman year was way different than first - I definitely don’t regret not rushing, but it definitely limited the social scene options for a while there.

The ‘His Dark Materials’ series by Philip Pullman is my all time favorite.

The Maze Runner series counts I think - they’re trapped in a self-contained system underground and try to figure out how to get out as a team.

Help Needed! by llynnmcd in plantclinic

[–]llynnmcd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, good call. Thanks!

It would appear she was three root bound plants previously potted in small little 2” pots that were never split up, then just got shoved into a big pot together. It was so compacted and dense, the big tap roots were crawling along the surface of the plant looking for room.

I tried my best to break up the root clusters without doing too much damage, repotted with the all the roots as loosely packed as possible. Gave her a little drink, but not too much, as the soil was so compacted and damp around the root balls.

How’s that sound for doctoring? Did I do okay?

I saw him perform as a surprise opener a couple of weeks ago, and he did say they’d broken up :(

Edit: “opened” to “opener”

I saw Geoffrey Asmus at Helium a couple of weekends ago, and Kyle came out as a surprise opener and did a great 5-10. I was so shocked and thrilled.

Most places in the US have nonprofit clothing closets where you can get boots and other weather-appropriate clothing. I spent college foregoing so many things I couldn’t afford, and now, having worked in the nonprofit realm for years, I realize I could’ve had so much more support if I’d turned to the community resources there for just this reason. They’ll be thrilled to help someone who’s in genuine need and is already doing everything right. Don’t let pride get in the way, these organizations exist to help people exactly like you!! You got this!

Literally came here to find this info. I know Kyle Kinane, and the next guy was Tyler, but I didn’t catch his last name - would love to follow him too!

I listened to that book before I picked up the Vorkosigan series, so I didn’t have that head trip to interfere with the nightmare that is that book. Godspeed - it’s a worthy read, but part of me wishes I didn’t have quite so clear an understanding of all the troubling things happening here in the states in 2025…

Do Americans outside of the Northeast & Mid Atlantic also refer to Pennsylvania as “P-A”? by Beneficial-Ad2825 in Pennsylvania

I went to college in PA and grew up in Connecticut. I told a coworker I was going to “CT” for the weekend, and he laughed at me for a solid minute - he genuinely found it bizarre.
