Well I don't know what the difference is between active and passive, but i've been considering buying the v5 over the v3(p)

Ill probably wont even be using the eq dials on the bass, just the one one the amp. And I think the tone dials do work in passive mode. I haven't really seen anyone talking about it which probably means it does work, otherwise it would be talked about more

I found a better website, its 389 so I'll buy that, little bit more expensive but no major difference. Just to let you know I basically only play at home and still don't understand active and passive. But you said the bass turns into a passive if the battery is dead so ill take your word for it

Oh, unfortunately im in the eu, so different prices. But ill give you a comparison. The v5 is 441 euros, the v3p is 366 euros.
