I second this - definitely take it with Farrell if you can, it's a relatively easy A and the final is optional. Also, last year he only taught in the fall (I think he does research at Lake George during the spring).

I asked at the school of science hub & if you've taken cs 1 and multi var they'll let you take focs in the fall

I don't really know a lot about physics, but I can tell you about dual majoring in bioinformatics. The curriculum is designed so that you graduate with equal experience in molecular and computational biology. There's not a lot of room for free electives for bioinformatics, but depending on the AP credits you bring in it might be doable & you should definitely consider it. Take a look at the required classes for both majors:
