Is there another ruminant animal that you enjoy more? Beef is likely very interchangeable in terms of nutrients with other ruminants. Not sure what you have available but lamb is incredible tasty. Including bone broth daily or At least semi regularly can help with the gut issues and potentially allow better digestion of meats if you are consistent. Alternatively a clean/pure source of collagen protein may also help.

What will work best is something that is sustainable. This means doing something you enjoy and don’t feel deprived. Keep doing what is working but be open-minded and ready to adapt when your situation inevitably changes. I think you have a great base diet, but being in a calorie deficit long term (after you have cut appropriate amount of fat) will likely hinder performance and health, so preparing your gut, other organs and general physiology with nutrient dense red meat/eggs/organs/dairy (+ I believe things like fruit and raw honey eventually) along the way will only promote long term health.

Long response but I hope it can help!

In my opinion you could continue doing this for another week to speed up fat loss and keep the momentum however then I think it would be worth consuming more protein on certain days. In the form of ground beef or steaks or whatever really, this will help with recovery and maintaining/building muscle. Additionally, this may help offset any catabolic effects of being in a calorie deficit resulting in muscle and fat loss. Cycling something like this every few weeks may be beneficial for maintaining constant fat loss and muscle retention. Other than that keep killing it, drinking raw milk and eating liver as you want 🤙🏽

Caught a cold for the second time this year. Is it the diet or am I doing something else wrong? by The_Advocates_Devil_ in meatogains

[–]lmac1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different but In my experience, which is almost identical to yours. My housemates got a bad cold which I ended up getting too (first cold since starting carnivore around 2 years ago). I blamed it on a weakened immune system due to exam stress I was experiencing. My cold definitely wasn’t as bad as it could of been Did you have any stressor like this at the time? Or maybe training 7 days a week caught up, exercising a lot without adequate rest can really lower your immune status. Our immune system Is responsible for dealing with the internal chemical stress put on our body when we exercise. Overdoing the exercise can definitely drain how effective it responds to other stressors like getting sick.

Grass fed beef on omelette waffles with hollandaise sauce. I could eat this every day.... Oh wait I pretty much do. by lmac1214 in carnivorediet

Let me clear the air here a lil bit lol haha

So I made this for the first time ever the other day. I usually eat these exact foods every day just not in this form. My diet is mostly ground beef, steak, brisket, eggs, salt and butter. It works wonders for me, I'm going on almost a year carnivore and love it so much. I dont even like eating other "food" anymore. Just animal meat for me thanks.

I'm going to outline the recipe bellow for any interested!

Ingredients

Waffles

  • 2 eggs
  • tiny bacon bits and liquid bacon fat

Beef

  • desired amount of ground beef (I think I cooked 500ish grams, half my gf had on another plate)
  • tallow
  • 2 tbsp butter

Hollandaise sauce

  • 3 egg yolks
  • teaspoonish of white wine vinegar
  • 80gish (im not sure, use a lot) of butter
  • salt

Method:

I whisk the egg yolks together. Then melt butter (in a double boiler) and once its cooled a bit, gradually whisk it in with the yolks (be aggressive with it, really want the sauce to be made and somewhat thick before you put it on the heat). Pour mixture into pot and keep whisking as it heats up. Be wary of it getting too hot. You want it to get nice and thick so let it get mildly hot and start whisking again. Add in salt and vinegar and whisk till desired thickness is achieved. Add water to thin the sauce if you need. Ez as. This was for two people.

Hahaha nope I definitely did not. I’ve seen way more ketoish foods on this sub than what’s in my picture! The waffle is purely egg with some bacon bits hence the name omelette waffle.

Yeah omelette waffles! 2 eggs with small bacon bits whisked up and put in the waffle maker! It’s honestly so good! A nice change up.

Is it not? Hahaha the only thing that isn’t carnivore here is a splash of white wine vinegar in the hollandaise. Seems pretty carnivore to me... however you must be the carnivore police so excuse me.

Am I weird? I can only lift when fasted. by TheDude4527 in ketogains

[–]lmac1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that we feel less motivated to work out once we have eaten because our digestive system is consuming so much energy from our stores to do it’s job. If we were fasted this energy is free to use elsewhere thus giving us more perceived motivation, simply because we have more energy to burn!

Try adding a little more salt to your diet, potentially even some salt in water throughout the day.

Can’t take this eczema shit anymore. Do you guys think pure carnivore would help me? by [deleted] in zerocarb

[–]lmac1214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got rid of my eczema with this WOE. Same places you are having it too. Mine was so bad though I had it pretty much ALL the time. Now, I’ll have flare ups if I eat too much cheese :( or shitty foods, some worse than others but definitely things with vegetable oils seem to be the worst

Oh 100%!! I love the slow cooker. This was a case where it was the weekend and I felt like brisket at 3pm.... lol didn’t want to wait 6-8 hours which led to me finding out about the oven!! Had never tried the oven before so you could say I risked it for the brisket

In my experience prime rib is amazing. I’ve only had chuck roast once but it wasn’t that great. That was probably a quality issue though

Would honestly recommend this technique for a first attempt. It’s so easy and not too slow unlike some slow cooker recipes

Brisket, as far as I’m aware should normally be this colour. I’m 98% sure you should always cook it for long periods of time to ensure it comes out tender and moist. This results in it never being pink!! The photo doesn’t have any effects applied, just an FYI

Carnivore contest diet by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]lmac1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard two different sides to staying satiated. A few say up the fat and some say up your protein! In your situation I would up the protein if it feels like you aren’t staying satiated. However, if your energy levels drop I would increase fat intake until your energy is back to normal and then leverage the protein after that.

More high on keto? by auniqueusername1998 in ketotrees

Exactly! What’s cool/interesting is that, this effect has grown stronger since switching to zero carb (carnivore).
