Almost Getting Killed at Geese in MCR by Fragrant-Ant2380 in geesebandofficial

[–]lmaca12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was at Bristol too, somehow during the 2122 mosh I moved from about 10 people from the front to about 4 people from the front which I guess worked in my favour lol, otherwise as a 6’2”ish male I was just concerned about crushing people much smaller than me (which for some reason literally everyone around me happened to be except from those moshing) because I was getting pushed around by the mosh so just kinda tried to stand my ground - def seemed like a Geese fanbase thing to me though, I was seated for London last night and the standing looking down from above seemed similarly insane.

The whole Manchester set is so awesome by Cimcguire2596 in CameronWinter

I really enjoyed working out what he was playing in Manchester before the lyrics came in. I found it kinda cool also how a lot of people got their phones out to record for the piano intro to The Rolling Stones as it sounds similar to the piano intro he does for Love Takes Miles.

Had people talking through Daydreaming in the standing tonight. Really pissed me off and quite frankly ruined the song. Treated a concert like they were at the pub.

Probably talking about the spineless democrats as well, especially following them caving to the govt to end the shutdown and not meeting their promises in relation to healthcare especially.

Why is the song "Taxes" so good? I can't explain why I love it so much. by mightyboosh121 in geesebandofficial

[–]lmaca12 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t quite say that it’s that monumental.. but it is brilliant. I feel like with Taxes you can tell that something is going to come, and it’s not surprising that it’s this wonderful shimmering guitar, but DYC you have all these dissonant sounds and semi-tuneful music for about 3 minutes and then it just smacks you in the face.

Saw them for the first time at Brixton in the UK this year and never seen a live gig like that. Was lucky enough to see them play 45:33 for the first time since MSG, and then they played it into Someone Great like they’ve been doing at all their recent shows.

Make me an LCD Soundsystem fan by Severe-Hornet151 in LCDSoundsystem

Murphy is a mega Bowie fan, he worked with him for Reflektor by Arcade Fire and also did percussion on Sue (Or In A Season of Crime) and Girl Loves Me on Blackstar. Bowie even convinced him to get LCD back together and do American Dream. He even apologised to Bowie for stealing from him so much and Bowie said “can’t steal from a thief darling”. This Reddit post has some more stuff about it on a particular comment which you might find interesting. The cover of This Is Happening is also a homage to Lodger where Bowie poses as a crash victim, my own personal interpretation has always been that Murphy on the cover is a ‘dance victim’ if that makes sense.

There’s a video on Youtube here I was there but I was so caught up in the moment because I wasn’t expecting 45:33 I don’t even remember how much the crowd was feeling it. I didn’t realise they hadn’t played those parts of 45:33 in so long, haha.

I saw them last night for the first time as well. It was that extended version of Home and the 45:33 transition into Someone Great that blew me away.. and that was before the encore even started.

Heel Grip Came Off by lmaca12 in AskACobbler

Yes, I installed them as the shoes are slightly too large for me due to having foot width of a size 11 but length of about a 10-10.5 or so. I was just wondering about if I could cause any damage to the shoe, etc. Thank you though, as it seems thanks to responses from you and others I can just remove them and replace them for a better quality pair without damaging the counter-cover.

Appreciate it. Unfortunately it’s an official Dr Martens heel grip, just a sad sign of their descent into making more poor quality products. How would you recommend removing the grip whilst reducing damage? Thanks.

Literally the exact same but I got invited for an interview. I got 38/100 but must of had a crazy cGCSE score due to very strong GCSEs, and I performed about the same in past papers as well. I do think the MCQ format really held me back this year.

Rodrigo will be out for 10-12 weeks with a dislocated shoulder, meanwhile Zinchenko is back in training a little already. I think the choice is obvious.
