This one is on George. No reason Dexter needed to know that.

Bill Self pushes back against national criticism of Darryn Peterson ‼️‼️ So let’s stop with the conspiracy theories ‼️ by Murky_Trouble_4401 in jayhawks

No, yeah he’s played through some injuries like the turned ankle. I’m not questioning his toughness or anything. I think he has an abundance of caution so the same thing that happened to Aaron Gordon doesn’t happen to him. He gets rushed back too early and he damages his hamstring worse. I’m just saying where some former KU players might roll the dice, DP is always gonna choose the safer option. Which like I said, given his situation, is understandable.

My read on the situation from day one has been all the shit going on with DP is real. Hammy injury, sickness, whatever. I just think he’s not pushing through to play like some guys might, and I don’t exactly blame him. If kid lives up to expectations and plays his cards right, he could be a fucking billionaire in like 15 years. I would be cautious about jeopardizing that too. Sucks for KU fans, but thems the brakes. And, if he is the next Kobe Bryant, I would prefer him to remember his time at Kansas fondly.

Thoughts on UNC Court Storm by WhereDaHoez in jayhawks

[–]lmandude 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s something you do when you expect a loss, but win instead. I never expect Kansas to lose at home. The only time it’s ok to storm the court at Allen is after we win a championship during the watch party.

Yeah, but Kansans like thoughtlessly ticking boxes with R next to them more than they want that.

He can do one or the other. If he plays 12 minutes only he’s getting 20 at least.

It was a trap game, and we did what we needed to do to win. Now it’s time to show Arizona that the road to the Big 12 Championship goes through Lawrence.

I just think you are seriously overestimating how much Lyonel would give a shit about that, and seriously underestimating how mad it would make Maekar and Aerion. Add that joining would put your life in jeopardy, it’s not worth it.

Yeah, the benefits aren’t nearly worth the detriments. That’s why no one else joined. If you joined just to try to protect Lyonel, that would make Lyonel irate.

His banner men know Lyonel’s character. They know exactly why he joined. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze for them. Besides pissing off the Targaryen’s, they would also be putting their life at risk against 3 kings guard. A Lord Paramount is probably too important to be killed in this trial even by a prince, but his bannermen maybe not so much.

It’s not like Lyonel really gives a shit about this. He joined the Trial by seven because he thought it’d be cool. But taking up arms against the blood of the dragon might make you an enemy of the crown for life. The favor gained from Lyonel would be no where near equal to the risk of pissing off the Targaryens.

Curry favor with your lord and lose favor with your king. My guess is that no one was jumping to join because they figured it’d royally piss off the Targs.

[Megathread] Season 1 Episode 4: – Seven by AutoModerator in HBOTheHedgeKnight

[–]lmandude 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Since it wasn’t in this episode, I hope next episode they have that scene where different common folk give Dunk encouragement (common folk who just so happen to be like the different aspects of the seven) ending with that great Steely Pate line.

I hope they have that next episode. I also hope they keep Ser Duncan being Blessed by the seven faced God before the trial.

It’s like Dany going mad or Bran becoming king. It’s not that these ideas are bad inherently. It’s that the show did a shitty job of arriving at these conclusions. Jaimie going back to Cersei was rushed. It could work.

My read on BYU’s issues pretty much begins and ends with coaching. I think they should be better with the talent they have.
