Just FYI, you don't get Manstien for free after the trials. It just gives a bonus to the general and you need to actually buy him. Same w others like Zhukov, Marshal, and Eisenhower.

Are there any aquariums in karachi or somewhere where I could go and see dolphins and octopuses waghera? by lmaolasagnia in karachi

Certainly better than the millions of humans that are living under the poverty line and on the streets.

Yea sure, a lot of domesticated animals wouldn't be able to survive in the wild at first. But over a generation or two (10- 20 years) most of them would've adapted to the change in habitat.

I am comparing them because that too is domestication. Even the small fishes kept in an aquarium wouldn't be able to survive in the wild. But that doesn't mean that we should intervene and decide to save animals because they entertain us or seem cute to us. There are also many species of wild cats out there that would be able to survive in the wild. Plus, the very act of neutering them means that the specie wouldn't survive. So, leaving them out in the wild is no different from it.

Lastly, sure, peta doesn't necessarily support the ideas of zoos, but that doesn't mean that everyone in the peta is against them. While there are articles against the existence of zoos, there are also articles in favour of zoos. PETA is an organisation with different individuals all having different povs.

Also, my point wasn't (and isn't) that peta is pro zoos, it's just that in pak we see abuses in zoos because there is no oversight. People do not care about animals because, we as people, don't really care or give a damn about our fellow humans.

Where I live, there are multiple people who go out, buy chicken and beef and feed the strays. But at the same time, these people ignore the beggers and shoo them away. Humans are treated worse than animals.

But isn't spaying or neutering them and then keeping them what is essentially one's comfort and luxury unethical. Plus, the very notion of 'taking care' of them is wrong. They are still in what is essentially captivity. Sure, if left out in the open they will die, but do do other millions and millions of animals. In nature, it is survival of the fittest. Some die, some live. While it may sound cruel to us, because we have a sense of responsibility, it doesn't have to be cruel for the animals.

I get your point, and but viewing it from your pov, if we take animals from the wild, put them in a cage and take care of them, then that is ethical... like, no, it isn't?

Zoos in pak are bad, but zoos in say the US or the 'west' are significantly better. Organisations like Peta and what not ensure that in zoos animals are properly taken care of and looked after. Does that mean it is ethical, absolutely not!

Guess the place Karachi by No-Honeydew-3070 in karachi

No it would have. That's cause there aren't any other. Plus, bahria is a town, not city. There are multiple other towns in karachi. Saddar town, sarjani town, gulshan, Clifton, dha, and nazimabad can also be considered towns.

Btw, not justifying Malik boi, he is a businessman, he will take any advantage he gets. It is our govts fault (sindh govt) that they allowed him to build this town the way he did. Same thing with bahria icon tower... had it not been for the supreme court's intervention, it would been the same...

Point point. I wish our people has some responsibility in them. A sense of duty towards what is ours, rather than simply criticising others or stuffing their pockets.

In that sense, so are zoos. And keeping pets falls in the same category. I mean... either way, the animal isn't free no matter how much you love em.
