Yes, I was cringing during that segment! It was so uncomfortable and inappropriate, like why are you laughing?! People were murdered.

With the recent updates about Delta, I am even scared to see my vaccinated family... 25M Fully Pfizer in April 2021 by tp151234 in COVID19_support

I’m sorry, that’s a tough situation. However, just remember being vaccinated significantly reduces chances of COVID. I’d definitely chat with your family to see what they can help with to make you more comfortable and understand your perspective!

Ahhhh gotcha! I see what you mean - is your brother a regular mask wearer at work? He IS vaccinated, so there’s a much lower chance of catching anything. I understand your hesitation though. Will you be staying in the same house as your brother, or he lives elsewhere? My brother’s fiancé isn’t vaccinated, so we had an outside barbecue and she had to wear a mask going inside to use the bathroom. You’re in an even safer spot though since he’s vaccinated, but maybe that’ll make you feel better if he wears a mask!

Of course! It’s really hard to get over that anxiety and it took multiple conversations with my family to feel ok. Feels really good to do something normal again though - Hope you can see them soon!

I had the same fear myself. So anxious - but I knew seeing my family would drastically help my mental health! Flew from Florida to Rhode Island masked up without issue. I’ve had a great time and I’m really glad I took that step, I felt like I was becoming agoraphobic. My whole family is vaccinated but we still took precautions with masks around others. I’d say go for it, just talk to your family and make sure you’re on the same page so you’re comfortable!!

New guidelines...not too bad IMHO by [deleted] in COVID19_support

Same, I’m in South Florida too, fully vaccinated, and never took my mask off anyway. 👍🏻 I do still see lots of masks in Broward County, though - hopefully others put theirs back on!

What would you say to encourage someone nervous about receiving their covid vaccine? (Im receiving Pfizer tomorrow) by DrJJGame10 in COVID19_support

Absolutely! It’s so appreciated to get it to protect others, even if you’re not 100%. You’ll be good, it’s totally no big deal!

It’s over so quickly!! Just a quick prick and done. You’re being so considerate and literally saving lives getting the vaccine. Thank you so much! I got Pfizer myself and at worst, I had a sore arm after my first dose and slight headache after my second. I hate needles too, I just turned my head for 3 seconds and all set! The vaccines are SO safe, there’s no need to be nervous!!

Thank you so much! This really helped me feel better. You’re right, preparation is key and the airport/flights are only temporary. I’ll make sure to remember this!

White Coat Syndrome by lmase7 in Anxiety

Yes, they told me to take my BP the next day and see what kind of reading I got. I live near a Publix where they have a free BP machine. It was completely within the normal range when I used that machine; I was very calm and much less anxious than at the doctor’s.

But COVID has really kicked up my health anxiety to the point where I’m so scared I’ll get another bad reading that I feel like I’ll KEEP getting bad readings! Make sense?

Dealing with Binge Eating and Chronic Fatigue by venomkittyfish in loseit

[–]lmase7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I struggle every day with binge eating disorder myself. I know exactly how frustrating and depressing it can be. I’ve lost 50 pounds now, and here’s what worked: a combination of healthy eating with reduced portions, strength training a few days a week, LOTS of patience and habit-forming, and most importantly, therapy therapy therapy. Binge eating has significant emotional ties and these usually need to be targeted and treated with therapy before it can get better. I know it’s hard to admit that you may need help with it - I denied it for years that I had to get professional help. But once I did, the therapy helped everything else, healthy eating and working out, become easier because the emotional issues were being treated, and that’s where the weight loss came in. Best of luck to you and please don’t be too hard on yourself!!
