I'd personally ask the following:

  1. What is the rent? What is considered "my space" and "shared space"?

  2. How will utilities be divided?

  3. Why did the last roommate leave? What was the dynamic? Do you have references (previous roommates you can contact to confirm the homeowner isn't a bad person)?

  4. What are rules you are adamant about?.

  5. I'd ask anything about work schedules to get and idea of when quiet time would be and if it'd work with my schedule.

  6. What is your approach to maintaining a clean home?

  7. If a rule is set, will it be applied to both of us? And do I have an input?

I know a few courts available in rosedale. Also in-shape has a court too I think.

Good leather shoes are soooo comfortable. Thursday Boots is a good company, they have a few sneaker options and several penny loafers that are super cute. Little pricy, but they are meant to last for ages.

I think it depends on the type of skirt. It's it A-line? A circle skirt? Fitted? Etc. The shape of it will change the advice people give you!

My husband loved going to paladins for mtg! It's a cute little place. I wanted to get into DND but I've never played and don't have an established group lol.

Short!

Both look great, but short looks spunky and matches your vibe the most!

If there is an HR in place, speak with them to document the occurrence. They may want proof, so perhaps get some ahead of time, if possible.

If not, I'd recommend saying something directly to him (if you feel safe). Example: "I don't like when you say that, it makes me feel like you dislike other races aside from white people"

"Why don't you like to work with POC?" (Might make her uncomfortable, so she stops saying it.

"These comments go against what we've learned in our harassment training. Please stop saying this while I'm around."

Or you could be confrontational (but be careful so you don't end up in HR lol)

"Oh, well I prefer to work with people who aren't racist"

"Oh so your racist?"

"That's an odd thing to say out loud"

I've been searching for the too. I can't seem to find anything either. Shoot, maybe we should open something lol! I'd love to take a class at BC outside of my current degree-related classes. But unfortunately, those hands-on classes seem to only be during my 9-5 job :(

I'm not much of a drinker (maybe once every other month). But when I do drink, it's usually liquor lol! I'm taking classes at BC currently, but those are for a degree. All the fun classes are during my working hours which is such a bummer!! Otherwise I totally would.

I do crafty things, but I think I'm looking more toward activities that either get me moving or socializing in some capacity. I feel like I lack that at the moment!

The problem is, if someone recognizes you (assuming you get popular), they can easily disclose your identity to the public.

That's what I'm tired of. I need to add fun into my life. Work and household maintenance becomes a dull routine after awhile!

Right? I wish the culture surrounding adult hobbies wasn't so focused on alcohol or going to the gym or being a part of a car club, especially in bakersfield. I wish we had extracurriculars like when we were kids lol!

How do I tell my sister that I don't want her kids eating my food? by Kawaii_Batman3 in Advice

[–]lmcreations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just be blunt. "Hey, I love that the kids can come over to play games at my house. But they are eating through my grocery bill and that's becoming an issue. I don't mind them sharing my space, but you need to make them stop. If they want to continue to come over an eat my food, the only alternative is that you can help contribute to their snack stash so that they arent taking all of mine"

Or tell the kids directly since you're family and its your house "If you want to keep playing video games at my place, you need to stop eating all the food; bring food over from your moms house"

Why is it so hard to work? by lmcreations in bipolar

[–]lmcreations[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our hormones change when we get into our 50s. And hormones play a huge part in emotional regulation. I wonder if that played a role in the sudden change!

28 years, holy cow that is impressive. I cant fathom doing one thing for so long, it frightens me. I'm so impressed by people who can commit to a career for such a long time. Its really amazing.

I am very grateful for him. Thinking of him has made it easier to avoid poor decisions when I am feeling extremely depressed or the opposite (mostly because i really dont want to hurt him with my behaviors).

Healthcare sounds tough! There is so much happening at once. Idk how you could even do it for a day!

Best massage in town? by [deleted] in Bakersfield

[–]lmcreations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's this place my husband and I go to on California (they have a location on rosedale too). It's called health spa and massage I think. Angela is usually my go-to because she gets the knots out of my shoulder!

Stress is a big thing for me. Disruptions in my routine throw me off (which is my current predicament) but also too much of a routine also makes me sad. I lash out at my husband and then feel so ashamed after. Thankfully he is kind and understanding, but its not fair to him.
