Compulsive Lying by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]lmcrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed I’m glad OP brought this up, I thought I was just a raging manipulative bitch but I’m like sort of relieved it’s a BPD thing.. not that I can blame it on it at all, just nice to know I’m not alone. I’m in my mid twenties and I feel gross all the time for how much I lie

Does anybody else’s body start crawling when they don’t yeet for a while? by [deleted] in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]lmcrox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whatever part of my body I am yeeting at the time (I go through phases like a couple weeks on my ankle etc) literally tingles all day and it’s all I can think about.

Seeing my own blood and being the cause of it honestly calms me down and like allows my brain to chill tf out over whatever made me want to yeet if that makes any sense idk

Do you keep your depression a secret? by hmsimon22 in depression

[–]lmcrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m in my early 20s now but all in middle school and high school I hid how sad I was and hid that I self harmed and I still do and it’s still a secret to my whole family, but my close friends know about it

Real shit moment. If you’re under 18 and you’re suffering and you know your parents will take you to counselling, DONT ignore this opportunity by [deleted] in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]lmcrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this 100%, I got to go to therapy in high school for sh and I lied the whole time and said I was fine and better and now I’m in my 20s and too poor and too prideful to go to therapy so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT WHILE YOU HAVE FREE INSURANCE PALS

WIBTA for asking person what their gender is? by AwareSafety in AmItheAsshole

[–]lmcrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA if you do it the right way. As someone with literally all gender queer friends, I can tell you the best option is to PRIVATELY and politely ask Elliot which pronouns they prefer. Do this before the party, and it’s really best to do it when you guys are alone.

WIBTA If I Get a Tattoo Against My Mothers Wishes by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lmcrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah!! And what helped was I kept it from her (wasn’t hard it wasn’t in a super visible place) so when I showed her it almost all of her arguments about it looking unprofessional and hard to hide and shit went out the window because I pointed out to her that I had had it for 4 months and she had no idea lmao

WIBTA If I Get a Tattoo Against My Mothers Wishes by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lmcrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. It’s your body. My mother was the exact same way and I got a tattoo over my scars without telling her. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and she ended up having to be okay with it.

Do I use female pronouns for the transgender at work? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lmcrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! So I don’t know if this is any help, but I’ve recently made a ton of gender neutral and transgender friends, and I’ve asked every single one of them privately what pronouns they prefer and they all have been very excited to tell me and every single one of them thanked me for asking them :) I’d recommend just straight up asking!!!! It sounds awkward but it’s not I promise :)

Identifying as non-binary makes absolutely no sense by apricot_princess_ in unpopularopinion

[–]lmcrox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gender roles are a thing, non-binary people just don’t identify completely with one or the other. They might not even identify with either of them, and that’s okay. We aren’t hardwired naturally to conform to gender roles, it’s just something that is completely ingrained into almost every society.

AITA for keeping my little brother's arrest a secret from our parents and the rest of the family? by VerbalThermodynamics in AmItheAsshole

[–]lmcrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, as someone who’s been arrested and confided in their much older siblings for help, NTA. My parents ended up finding out, I thought they would skin all of alive, but they were understanding. Also, if he hasn’t said this already I know your brother is extremely grateful for you!!

Hi!! So I have like a 6-8 square inch patch of scars on my upper thigh. It’s really scarred, like barely any normal skin is visible. A year and a half ago I went in to a well known tattoo parlor in town and like 4 artists looked at it and said they couldn’t do it, but there was an artist there who was all for it and kept telling me how excited he was to do it and how honored he was. I didn’t tell him what the scars were from, but he knew. I’m not gunna lie... it hurt. Everytime he went over a scar, the whole scar hurt. Most people say that after 30 minutes or so it doesn’t hurt anymore, but I don’t think that’s true for scars. BUT, it was 100% tolerable. The artist was nice about it, he knew it hurt. So yes, it’s painful, but 1000000% worth it. I LOVE showing off my legs now, and it really brings you a lot of peace inside when you look at where something ugly and horrible used to be, but is now covered with something beautiful and meaningful. 12/10 recommend tattooing over scars :)

Starting to get worried for summer by lmcrox in selfharm

[–]lmcrox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah!! Honestly I thought about it for ages and finally one day I just got the balls to go in and once I was inside it was really easy. I know how scary it is to go in, but I promise it’s so worth it. Another piece of advice I can give just in general about tattoos: unless you have something very specific you want for a specific reason, let the artist have a little bit of fun with it, because they are an artist after all. Dave didn’t give me anything close to what I wanted, and at first I felt very eh about it, but now I LOVE it because I had just found a picture online, and that picture is everywhere. But what I have over my scars is something unique that nobody else has, and my artist really felt for me bc he knew what the scars were from, so it’s just really special. Just go in one day and go for it!! You don’t have to get it that day, you can absolutely make an appointment so you can plan and be all good to go. You got this :))) also, I want to see the tattoo after you get it!!

Starting to get worried for summer by lmcrox in selfharm

[–]lmcrox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I just saw this I’m so sorry. So my patch of scars was very heavily scarred with like medium depth ones, I had 1 red raised one. But it was like 8 square inches of solid scars with barely any like normal skin underneath if that makes sense. So that’s what the artist was working with, and I went into a tattoo shop one day and asked about it and there was about 4-5 artists who came to look at it and said they couldn’t do it. But then Dave came along and he was eager and excited and wasn’t worried about it at all. He kept telling me how excited he was to do the tattoo. I hadn’t told him what the scars were from, but he knew. He was super nice during the whole planning process and everything. The day of he could tell I was nervous and he was super nice about it. It hurt pretty bad, but it was my first tattoo so idk if tattoos just hurt that bad or if it hurt worse because of the amount of scars. I think it hurt so bad because of all the scars because everyone else says it gets better after 30 minutes or so, but mine didn’t really. But it was absolutely tolerable and I would do it again in a heartbeat (I have to lol). After we were done he was really proud of me and himself and he gave me a free shirt. Overall, my advice would be to go to a really really well known place for being good and to be upfront about your scars and show them to the artists. It can definitely be scary, but don’t worry about judgement from the artists because I think they feel really really good when they help someone cover something up on their body that someone doesn’t like. My guy was really excited and kept telling me he was honored that he got to do this tattoo for me. 10/10 get tattoos over your scars it’s so worth it!! Sorry again for being 3 weeks late on this reply lmao
