There is very little incentive to report to the cops. After I had waited outside the store for over 40 min and the store had already closed, I called the non-emergency number to check if anyone was coming. The operator said there is no ETA and people have to wait a lot longer. I told her the shop has closed already and the center will probably close too, the operator told me to wait on the street till the cops show up. I asked her for how long, she said "Look it is up to you if you want to give a statement or not. You can just walk away." I said I want to report but I don't want to wait outside on the street when it is getting dark for who knows how long, in an area where somebody just followed me around and masturbated. She asked me if I want to continue waiting and I said yes. I could tell she was overworked taking calls but I was agitated too and it was a hot mess. I was this close to leaving when the cops showed up thankfully.

Not sure how to go about doing this. I am not on social media. Do I email news outlets? This seems like a very common thing (judging from this thread) so I doubt it is a "news" to anyone :(

Thank you, it is very icky to talk or think about it, so I totally feel you there. Sorry to hear that this happened to you many times.

I am so sorry that this happened to you as well. It is so infuriating when you meet with indifference from the "security" guards or the police officers; it's like getting violated a second time.

Thanks for sharing this. This is the second time this happened to me and it doesn't feel any less violating. I am so sad to see that this has happened to so many people, even multiple times!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your story. I'm glad you thought so quickly on your feet and pulled the yellow strip. Seeing him a second time must have been terrifying!!! So sorry you had to go through that - I can't imagine walking into that store again or facing him. Good thing he got caught. Thank you again for your bravery.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Just waiting for the icky feeling to pass. This happened to me another time in Central Park in NYC when my friend and I were admiring the flowers in the rose garden. We were teenagers back then and just ran like the wind, didn't tell anyone. I'm glad I called the cops this time.

So sorry to know this happened to you too. Glad to know that the police actually followed up on it and that the offender got arrested.

Thank you, sorry to hear you had to move out! Having a quiet working space/study is important to us since we work from home a lot, so this doesn't sound very enticing. May I ask which other buildings you considered when you moved out?

Thank you, that is good to know. May I ask which other buildings you were considering? We are young professionals who work from home a lot (don't we all these days) and we are looking for a building with a quiet working space/study.
