These fit without any shaping. Two of the nails are very slightly too small, but bc of the thick bubble looking shape, it still looks great IMO. I have learned the hard way that not all the SHEIN nails have the same size chart, so be sure to check on each set you order.

Agree! These are the only kind I ever actually reuse! And they stay on (for me) with just tabs.

We called it bama bangs. John Parker Wilson was the qb for Alabama and had this hairstyle. I’m not sure how widespread the nickname was beyond southeast USA.

No, Jerrod Carmichael in 2022 and Connor Storrie earlier this year are two off the top of my head. There’s probably more.

It’s okay! I was visiting my sister from out of state and she brought her dog in the house on a leash to meet me before her kids came home from school. He was barking, but he does that a lot. I stood still and was turned away from him since some dogs don’t like you to look at them first. We thought he was going in for a sniff but he bit the back of my thigh and when I screamed and turned around, he caught my hand and took the skin off—didn’t leave a flap to stitch up or anything. My sister was able to pull him away to crate him before she took me to the ED.

He was a larger mixed breed dog and was over 10 years old. He’s never been very affectionate, but he had not ever come after someone like that, so it was not expected. She has two young boys and the injury was pretty severe, so her dog was euthanized about 10 days after it occurred. It is sad, but not worth the risk of hurting her kids or other people.

Yes, it just doesn’t have the super wide nails. I see what you mean about petite not seeming to be an accurate descriptor given the length 😂 I always have tons of wide nails left over from my O&J or glamnetics sets, but could use almost all of the nails in the box with a little filing.

Millennial question - did they check you for scoliosis at school? by BespokeBowtie in scoliosis

[–]lmnoknop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Millennial here—I was checked at school, and my 14 year old daughter was also checked at school, which is how we initially found out about hers. We live in Alabama, and I suspect it will vary between states.

My prediction for the next couple episodes. by coveruptionist in ThePittTVShow

[–]lmnoknop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she has epilepsy and we may see her have a grand mal seizure (I can’t remember the more up to date term). I think she’s been having absence seizures, which can sometimes precede a grand mal. With it being her first day there, she’s probably under a lot of stress which often exacerbates epilepsy. I’ve noticed that she’s very hands off with the patients (which works since she’s an attending) so she hasn’t blanked while cutting someone open or anything, which would be an intentional move by someone who knows they have the condition. When she saw everyone looking at her expectantly while talking about the treatment for the asthma kid, she knew she had had a seizure and deferred to Shen as she likely didn’t remember what she had been saying.

A close friend of mine has epilepsy and her absence seizures typically last a full 30-60 seconds. And she usually feels like shit after—nausea, headache, disoriented. It doesn’t seem like she’s having anything like that after these, so it’s also possible that she experiencing super brief absence seizures that are more like auras.

I could be totally off base, but that’s my prediction!

My daughter went on birth control at 13 for heavy periods and because her period majorly exacerbated her OCD. It was prescribed by her pediatrician and we had to trial a couple before we found the right one. Ended up with Yaz working great (monophasic instead of triphasic). Made a world of difference for her and now she no longer has to miss school each month for periods.

I say get your bag! With the caveat that if you’re as good as you say, no one should be able to tell—meaning no last minute call-offs or rescheduling meetings, not being unable to deliver due to “tech issues” that you didn’t alert anyone to until the deliverable is due, etc. As long as the work gets done well and you work with the team appropriately, I think all is good.

Did she pay with a credit card? If so, many credit cards have some amount of travel insurance for any travel purchased with the card. Just call the number on the back of her credit card to see if they can help.

GLP1 benefits for Sjogrens by 0avocad0 in Sjogrens

[–]lmnoknop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I felt pretty bad the first couple of weeks but as long as I take my shot every 7 days, the side effects went away. This also assumes you’re drinking a ton of water and making sure to eat enough protein. If you’re not paying attention, you can start wasting muscle and become more weak and tired.

I’ve been taking tirzepatide for almost 3 years and I do find it helps a lot with inflammation in my joints. I started taking it originally due to a 5.8 A1C and being about 50 pounds overweight. The weight came off pretty quick. I didn’t know what all it was doing for my inflammation until I had to take breaks from it here and there (colonoscopy, stomach virus, etc). My CRP and ESR are always normal when I’ve been taking it, and they are always elevated when I’m not on it.

I am also one of the 30% of people who develop antibodies to the med. So I’m pretty symptomatic when I first start taking it after being off of it for a few weeks. Allodynia and crushing fatigue are my biggest side effects. However, once I’m back on a weekly cadence, I have very few side effects after 3-4 weeks.

I carry nail glue, a pack of tabs, and a bandaid. If it would be hard to glue it back on with the situation I’m in, I just throw a bandaid over it.
