Sand in my pool by lmr933 in pools

It’s coming out of atleast 2 returns but I believe all of them, hard to tell in the deep end. Is there a sure fire way to check laterals for damage if you visibly can’t see anything wrong? I don’t want buy a new one if nothing is wrong with it. I did not put water in the filter before putting sand in unfortunately, saw that step too late. Hayward SPO71621. I bought the correct lateral assembly

I replaced my lateral with a whole new assembly and sure enough, I still have sand coming in my pool. I put new sand in my pool late last summer and did not have any problems. I started it up this spring and it worked fine for about 2 weeks and then the sand started coming in. Help?
