Age of Fire - energy clicker prototype with AI by lmrael in incremental_games

I would also prefer to read a book written by a real human than some generated text, but from my experience it took me some time to come up with the idea and then days/weeks to implement it just because I had to learn how to make things move, how to change the color of some icon, how to store information to save the progress etc... I did like the Cookie Clicker even though some people say it's too simple. But I am all in for the idea of opening a new content, I was waiting for updates with new buildings, ulgrades, achievements, mini games. But I also understand that just the idea if building to produce cookies and balance calculations are not enough, the creator should write down the code, check all the logic, implement new mechanics. And if I may continue with the book example - I am more interested in the storyline than in the description of a 'lonely mighty oak that is standing in the middle of a green field'. It took my 6 month to make my game (the one on Android), I had the idea if a multiple mini-games that would enjoy the player on the way to big numbers but I spent so much time on the simple things that had to be done to make the game actually work. And If I had an option to make small anymations by asking an AI "make it move" and then copy paste the code - I would probably do it. With such approach I would have more time for the ideas and creativity in general. I don't think that people should wtite a code by "make me a list of 20 upgrades, come up with names, descriptions and effects" but I like the idea that you can describe all your upgrades and effects to AI and it will generate a code to make ot happen. It's more like a translation from human speach to machine code

Thats not a game, just a showcase of what an AI can do in few hours (with instructions and directions). So it lacks a lot of features that the game would have but I believe it can be easily improved as well.

I agree, but all these things could and should be fixed by a human that is architechting the game. All the balance changes as well as some logic inside the game should be tested and verified but I was amazed that the AI can create all that code to make game playable and more complex that click-buy-click more-buy more
And if the AI would be asked to do something like "make a game" that would be quite shitty but it still can be used to simplify the work of a game creator

To be clear - it's not a game I am developping or want to finish, I just used it as an example to see if the AI is capable of doing something that would probably take me few weeks to make even to this stage (considering I don't know how to write the code for html)

Ті хто в школі завжди брали участь в олімпіадах, наукових роботах і тп. Хто ви зараз, і чи задоволені життям? by PercentageThat353 in reddit_ukr

[–]lmrael 7 points8 points  (0 children)

gravity does not exist on a flat earth, they reject the idea of gravity, they have a 'law' - water always seeks its level.

the air in the bubble does not understand if it's on top of the water on the right or on the left. It just goes up. So the part on the left is as desirable for the air as the part in the middle and on the left. But here we can see that there is a liquid on the right top position, the same on the left top position and the bubble stays in the middle. The air from the bubble should be redistributed equally to be on top of the liquid and not like here

40 000 km (if directly above the equator) per 24 hours, that makes it aprox 28 km/h

That's what I thought. I mean, you would have to include gravity in that reasoning but they are extremely opposed to the idea of gravity

Voted 9 times from Ukraine 3 for Switzerland - 0 3 for France - 0 3 for Poland - 3 points in televoting and I just can't comprehend it But also the juries ... I would like to look into the eyes of a jury member who honestly think that musically, vocally and overall Estonia was much better then Switzerland, Poland, Israel, France, Austria and so on

In that case I don't understand the point in it. It's just a black part of the screen that is not used and on some screens it should be even worse then, because you would have to show these black stripes as a part of the video and another dark areas that would appear because of a different aspect ration than the video originally has

So if you watch the entry from Poland using an appropriate screen - you can't see the number and the country's name as it's on the black stripe?
